The problem with Cam is that I think he tries to rush the passer a bit too much, when he really just needs to hold his ground and command that double team.
Cam couldn't even handle a single blocker Monday - nevermind a double team.
I'm not holding my breath hoping a rookie free agent is going to do much better this year.
You're right. It takes a long time for a nose tackle to get good. This is a veteran's position.

I never really expect much from rookies their first year, personally. Even our first rounders from the past few years have had significant issues in their first years.

funny, bird makes the biggest defensive play of the game and people want to criticize him. even when he got "shredded" in coverage he was right there (like on that TD he gave up). god forbid we give credit to the other team.

oh and ill say this too. bird is a better option than a healthy manti right now

No. For better or worse, Te'o is our starting ILB of the future. He needs to be playing.

Obviously. And he's far better in coverage.

His biggest struggle will be not having a NT

Don't hold your breath for that one. He's missed a lot of time.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Does it matter? I didn't realize this season was super bowl or bust. It's in our best interest to play all these young guys and let them take their lumps.

I already predicted he would have 15 tackles for over 150 yards.

it's easy to amass tackles when they run and pass directly at you.

Then why did everybody say "run right at Watt."

Not sure why Weddle isn't shredded for giving up a TD to the same person (Daniels).
