It's painful to point out, Staley got more out of the Chargers in the post-season in one game than Harbaugh has in two games. You can make excuses if you want, but it doesn't change the fact.
Yep....no one is suggesting Staley is a better coach than Harbaugh but facts are facts.

Staley was outscored 31-30 in his one playoff game. Harbaugh outscored 40-15 in his 2 playoff games.

In a great weekend of playoff football only ONE team wasn't in a close game and sucked.

Would the Chargers have been better hiring Harbaugh with Greg Roman glued to his hip or Ben Johnson?

Aside from being an excellent offensive mind, Johnson doesn't seem to have any problem being a fiery motivator and leader of men
Watching Ben Johnson this season is giving me coaching fomo.

Staley is on a redemption arc. I still believe he'll make a good HC in his second stint as I stated when he was hired as our HC -- if he went on to fail with us, he'd do much better elsewhere on the second try. This year, the Saints defense had no business being as good as they were. Next year, they may get better.

He just might have been hired as HC before he was ready. He only had 1 season as a coordinator under his belt at the time.

After seeing what a deer in the headlights Herbert was once again in the playoffs and seeing the other teams defenses I think we get smoked by Houston which would of been a wake up call losing to them in back to back playoffs that we aren't there losing to them 3 in a row, obviously lost to Pats, probably would of lost in Jax and that would of been unpleasant due to last playoff game there, would of also lost to Denvers D with that QB play. Justin might need a psychologist and/or a hypnotist due to all the mental scarring and may be damaged from all of the results, cannot have another no show. We can go 17-0 in the regular season and Herbert be the MVP but oddsmakers should make us underdogs until he wins his first game and casts out those demons.

I wanted Ben Johnson, Ben Johnson wanted to coach Herbert, he withdrew his name from consideration for HC jobs after Harbaugh got the job.

I was dead wrong about that guy as a HC

I'm confident we would have gotten more than three points in the first half if Drake Maye had thrown five interceptions to us.

In the Jacksonville loss, the offense gave us three points in the second half. We also should have had more than 27 points off of five turnovers in the first half, but Herbert overthrew a wide open Keenan Allen in the end zone in the second quarter. The defense totally collapsed in the second half. It was the most embarrassing, ridiculous playoff loss in the franchise's history. I don't consider that a "better" loss than last night.

In last year's playoff loss we were up 6-0 and intercepted a pass in Houston's territory. The very next play Herbert threw an inexcusable interception. We were still in the game late in the third quarter, down 13-6. Herbert threw an inexcusable pick-six that made it 20-6. That's a Herbert issue, not a coaching issue.

You have a better argument with Norv Turner, Mike McCoy, and Anthony Lynn actually winning a playoff game-- or in Turner's case games. Completely different situations, though.

Since we're on the subject of Staley I can't help but wonder if maybe, just maybe, the offense purposely threw away the game to get rid of Roman knowing what would happen if we won.. 🤔

True, but imagine if we won and lost the following week.
                        2 more years at least.
