If you look at the great Niner teams, they ALWAYS beat the LIVING SHYTE out of their LOUSY divisional opponents ( Falcons, Saints, Rams) and they went .500 against the rest of the league.
All that butt whooping made them think they were great. After all those Super Bowl wins, I guess they were.

Patriots have been doing it for years in the crappy AFC East.

              A leader. Not a coordinator.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

AL is now 20-10. Leading us to big road wins, crazy travel schedule, team moving cities, and this with the Spano ownership.
AL has instilled his vision of a physically/mentally tough, resilient, competitive, no quit team. Our Bolts are together as a unit, believe in his vision, trust his process, and are overcoming adversity. AL has brought an entirely new mentality/culture/process/expectation to this team.

He made a comment today that the Chargers are a "very flawed team that is poorly coached" and that Lynn seems like a nice guy but "is a poor coach and his team makes mistakes all the time". He had an article after the Rams game calling out Lynn for kicking a fg with 11:49 left when we were down by 15. There was another article by a different writer at CBS also critical of Lynn - evidently they aren't Lynn fans.

Do you think we are poorly coached?

After watching one improbably win after another, I've changed my mind about Lynn.

Whatever I felt about him, he's proven to be exactly what the Chargers needed.

How many people are injured, and they keep pulling wins out at the last second. Pittsburgh, Tennessee...and now KC (yes, I know the order is messed up).

This is Lombardiesque coaching if I ever saw it. He's doing a bang up job, and he may still be doing it in February.

                    I'm slackjawed.

TV announcer last night said Chargers are most balanced team in the NFL on offense and defense with both being ranked #8. Not sure if I'd go that far, but hell of a coaching job with all the missing players and inconsistent at best Special Teams.

I like the results, more than anything, so far.

I'm not sure how much of a game manager he is, but he seems to have grown into the role a bit. He's hired good coordinators, though, and that is really important.

I think his "underdog" mentality (he was a backup special teams playing running back for the Broncos) has helped. He's not averse to facing adversity.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."
