Let's hope it's a rest day for Gates.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

So while I was already a veteran Charger fan of 8 years by 1981, I always rooted for Billy too.

I grew up as a Ram fan in LA (did not become a Charger fan until moving to SD in 1988). In fact my first NFL game was at the NFL coliseum in 1979, Rams Vs. Vikings and the Rams won when Nolan Cromwell was holding on the game winning FG and just picked it up and ran it in on his own. I am well versed in 70's and 80's Ram history and even some before my time as my high school football coach, Doug Woodlief, was a linebacker behind the Fearsome Foursome so we learned all about those 60s teams on a daily basis.

ANYWAY, growing up, Billy Waddy was my favorite Ram, absolutely loved the guy. Whenever the neighborhood kids and I would be out playing football nobody wanted to be Wendell Tyler, Vince Ferragamo, Lawrence McCutcheon, etc., Nope...everyone wanted to be Billy Waddy.

Go back and watch the highlights to the 1979 Super Bowl in the Rose Bowl, Ferragamo threw that final interception that sealed the game for the Steelers and famously missed Waddy wide open down the seam for what would have been the game winning TD. Waddy was one bad read from going down in history as a Super Bowl hero. Damn, I was 8 years old and remember that like it was yesterday...

RBs vs. the Shams LBs are the key on offense. The short pass w/ RAC moving the chains. Set up the deep ball and then grind them in the 4th.
Taking away/limiting Gurley the key on D. Make Goff make tough throws and win the TO battle.

Would love for them to be missing Whitty. I wanted him over Okung.

Me too but Okung has played very solid.
Shams just giving the old timer extra rest. Like we do with Gates.

We overpaid because our line was just so bad.

That and i think maybe the only other option was Whitworth.

Dealing with Gurley in the passing game is going to be a challenge but I think Derwin & Kyzir are going to be tasked to do just that. Derwin may have to play a little more FS in passing downs with the speed at WR the Shams have. Here a good article on Kyzir explaining how he can do that with his skill set. All right expect the position at WV he played is called the SPUR not star.
Kyzir White brings ball skills to Chargers linebacker group

4 Chalk one up for the rookie.

In the ChargersBuffalo Bills, safety-turned-linebacker Kyzir White walked away with the second-highest game grade on the entire team with an 86.7. The grade was good for fourth among all linebackers across the league while his coverage grade of 90.5 was second-best among his position group.
