They should of went to Vegas. The Mayor of Vegas and Spanos are good friends so that's where they should of went and they would be more welcome there than in LA.

I think we're a long ways before any decision is made. Like 5+ years.

There are cities that would support a team. I think Rich is right, Jerrah would oppose another Texas team.

Oklahoma City is in FB country.
Portland... I like the location, but I don't see that as a FB city? Maybe bc their two big colleges aren't in Portland?

Vegas would have made sense. But that's gone.

I don't see a return to SD as likely. Unless the NFL forced the Spanos family out? And they can get a stadium.

Just spitballing any other possible sites?
        Salt Lake City? No clue.
Omaha, Nebraska? Lots of FB fans in Nebraska. But very small comparatively. Get Warren Buffett involved. LOL
Iowa? No real big city in Iowa? I think if an "expansion team" the Iowa whatevers... I could see that work. But not a moved team.
St. Louis? I mean it can work there.
        Albuquerque, NM? Too small.

The best options there are St. Louis, Portland, and OKC.

Honestly, there's no real solution. Unless you consider something out of the Continental US.
London? I hate the idea, but they've been playing games there for years for a reason.
Mexico City? I don't see it. But it's a helll of a lot closer than London.
Vancouver, BC? I don't think you'd have enough fans.

Really the two best options are stay in LA and be the Clippers, or force an ownership change and a stadiumto go back to SD.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

After San Antonio, I think Mexico City would be an option

The elevation in Mexico City might be a factor. It's more than twice as high as Denver, and it does cause problems for visiting teams. Can you imagine playing at almost 13,000 feet? The players would have to have portable O2 tanks under their shoulder pads.

Jerry Jones talked about blocking them when that came up before, claiming it's his market for NFL. Sound familiar? Besides, there's no modern NFL acceptable stadium in San Antone, and that will never work for Spanos or probably any other NFL owner.

IMO, it's not that "SD" didn't want the team (Just not Spanos), it was more that the CITY seemed to always fuck things up through incompetence and animosity on both sides and nobody had the big vision to include the whole county with a much bigger population and where more fans resided. If the team had a new rich owner who could fund a stadium themselves and portray the team and fans as a REGIONAL asset it would be a different story altogether. Cut the SD City politicians out of the equation entirely and don't require any kind of vote where the small number of CITY resident transplant/haters could mount a convincing "NO" campaign and/or tie things up in court and just build a new modern facility and watch the overwhelming success it would bring on many levels.

that's roughly the same value of the Chargers from the latest Forbes ranking. Certainly nowhere near the doubling or tripling in value some people predicted simply by moving the team to LA. The thing is the NFL has a policy about not selling for a set time period after being granted relocation. The Chargers don't even start paying the relocation fee until 2019- $650 Mil over 10 years.
