The yearly amount is in range but contract length is probably long.

Yeah i really only looked at the yearly. His value is Bens value essentially annually. Im just wondering what fans will think if Rivers comes in fair market value. Will people question his desire to win a championship if he puts us on the hook for max value? Will fans think he only cares about the money? Brees took less than market value to help the Saints.

Maybe he takes less if we give him 4 years? I think Rivers can play at 41.

Ben Roethlisberger's two-year extension is worth $68 million, and includes a $37.5 million signing bonus and an additional $30 million in injury guarantees, per source. Roethlisberger had one year at $12 millon left - and now has three at $80 million - $67.5 gtd.

Hec sign him to a 10 year deal and make it voidable after 3. Cap savings.

I wouldnt blame him. Ben isnt doing it either, but he seems like kind of a dick. But looks like Brees is doing it and Brady does it so i hope Phillip will too. They guys that really want to win championships will do it.

Revenues are going to skyrocket over the next few years. By the end of a new 3 yr deal 31 MM will seem like a bargain(ish).

Rivers is worth every cent that he gets. If the team had put an o line in front of him, he would have won a SB too.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Why would Rivers take less than Ben?

So really only 37.5 million guaranteed.

Well If we go by accomplishments. Ben has 2 SBs. I'm hoping he takes less than Ben. Saw on Twitter be got 68 million, not 63.
                      However it works out.

These contracts aren't based on past accomplishments.

Still think he will get less than Ben. And I'm sure some accomplishments are considered. Your not signing him because they are nice guys,...because I'm not sure Ben is. But he did win you two SBs and is your best QB ever.

I am also aware that Brady takes less because be wants to win and knows he cant do it alone
