They were both DE's in a 4/3 defense. We know Dean couldn't be switched to LB, they tried him there at first and he stunk. I really doubt either of them would fit this defense. Great players though.

He played DE, OLB and was the original Elephant/Leo Rush LB for the 49ers when Siefert invented the scheme we still use today. He was much better suited to being a situational rusher than an every down DE.
