The projected starters audition in PS3 and those slots have to be earned in camp. We have a handfull of elite- near elite players but need guys who push them, make them better.
I get all that. It just don't interest me. I love to watch the preseason games.
I just don't care about the TC practices or especially what's goin on in a minicamp or voluntary workouts.

It's their time to see what a player can do and experent with some of them at other possitions. I just hope for no injuries.

Very disheartening to hear Hunter tore his ACL and when Denario tore his after a solid season. Other than that, it's just practice and who makes the team, makes the team.

There are not a lot of openings for UDFAs this year.

We may end up with no one surprising enough to squeeze in.

The Chargers and the Colts (our week 1 opponent !) are being hailed
as the two most talented teams in the NFL.

So Starters, Backups, 3rd's plus 1 more would be 53.
And for me the last spot is between Detrez Newsome, Geremy Davis, Anthony Lanier, Nick Dzubnar and Rayshawn Jenkins.
I think all of them, minus Lanier, played on special teams last year. Since I was team Newsome last year, I'm fine rolling with him again.

          Starter Backup 3rd 4th
QB Rivers Tyrod Taylor Easton Stick
RB Melvin Gordon Austin Ekeler Justin Jackson Detrez Newsome
          FB Derek Watt
WR1 Keenan Allen Travis Benjamin Geremy Davis
WR2 Mike Williams Dylan Cantrell Artavis Scott
TE Hunter Henry Virgil Green Sean Culkin
          LT Russell Okung Zachary Crabtree
          LG Dan Feeney Spencer Drango
C Mike Pouncey Scott Quessenberry Cole Toner
          RG Michael Scholfield Forrest Lamp
RT Sam Tevi Trey Pipkins Trent Scott

          Starter Backup 3rd 4th
LDE Joey Bosa Isaac Rochell Patrick Afriyie
          NT Brandon Mebane TY McGill
DT Jerry Tillery Justin Jones Cortez Broughton
RDE Melvin Ingram Emeke Egbule Anthony Lanier
SLB Thomas Davis Uchenna Nwosu Tre'Von Johnson
          MLB Denzel Perryman Nick Dzubnar
WLB Jatavis Brown Kyzir White Drue Tranquill Kyle Wilson
RCB Trevor Williams Michael Davis Brandon Facyson
SS Derwin James Jaylen Watkins Rayshawn Jenkins
          FS Adrian Phillips Nasir Adderley
LCB Casey Hayward Desmond King Jeff Richards

If Artavis Scott is healthy and ready to go, I think this is the year he makes the 53 over Davis, Patton and Liggins.
I'm always a homer for bringing back Gates, because every year is the year to me, and I don't want him missing out.
It will probably be the same as last year, a last second addition. But for now I'm not factoring him in.
I might be too optimistic on Crabtree, his spot could go to Trent Scott. They kept him around after the injury, so we'll see.
Anthony Lanier probably has a better chance than Afriyie, so I might switch them around, but I'm rooting for Afriyie so.
Linebacker has depth everywhere except middle. I guess Brown moves to middle and White steps in, in a pinch.
I'm still high on Facyson. He's tall and lengthy and will provide good depth in his 2nd year.
The question is really Watkins or Jenkins. With Derwin and Nasir in place, I think they'll move on from Rayshawn.
The lone UFA to make the team and keep the streak going will be Ty Long at Punter, who can also kick if need be.

          K Michael Badgley Ty Long
          P Ty Long
          LS Mike Windt
          H Ty Long
          KR Desmond King Austin Ekeler
          PR Desmond King Travis Benjamin
Looking at this roster, off the top of my head, I would say the players on the bubble of being cut are Dzubnar, Detrez and Drango...

He isnt very athletic, but hes a very solid run blocker. And he look better than feeney in pass blocking. I think he makes the team

At least two of last year's starters on the OL will have to PROVE they deserve to keep their spots. With how (being generous) spotty their play was, cannot believe Feeney and Tevi are slam dunks to return as starters. Lamp should be 100% and itching to break out, and I have no idea what to expect from Pipkins: his raw athleticism is way beyond Tevi's, but will it be enough? How fast does he develop/catch on? Will there be injuries that change everything? Cuz that is always a thing for us...

I agree two have to prove they should be starters. Unfortunately, someone else has to prove they're a starter to take their place. And the OL is the thinnest group in camp which makes me less than confident.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

We have 16 OL in camp. 4 C-C/G, 6 OG, 6 OT. The numbers look good. Adequate talent/depth remains to be seen. IMO it's on the coaches, training staff. The Pats do a great job with mid-late picks, UDFAs.

Five of our projected top 8 OL have a lot of improvement to do. Count me worried.

Davis over Scott, hmm. That will be a good camp battle.

That stuck-up to me as well
I can see it if coaches feel we're missing an outside presence with Tyrell gone.
