I disagree: with Rivers, they knew where to protect & for how long (Rivers getting rid of the ball quickly). Remember how Okung had trouble protecting for Sieman?
The 3 headed monster of Pipkens, Tevi, Scott at LT will be exploited hard. These guys haven't had spring camp to aid in their development.
The hand marks are from opposing defensive ends: it's where they most like to place their hands to get leverage on this monster.

I like your monster!
With Rivers everyone on the field knew where the ball would be for at least 2 or 3 seconds. If no receiver open in that time = sack....unless the blocking held up.
I'm sure teams will go after All our OL and if anyone is easily beaten, they'll do it as long as we allow it. Duh!
This ain't last year and will be different. More RPOs, zone blocking & runs will have an impact.
OC scheme & playcalling is going to be different without PR, that's a lock.
... with Rivers, they knew where to protect & for how long ...
I didn’t see that as any advantage at all. They couldn’t block. There was no confusion on the task - see those guys on the other side there - yeah, keep them out of the backfield. They couldn’t do that.
Meanwhile, the defenders knew the same thing of exactly where he would be. Advantage Defense!
Rivers was pretty good at getting rid of the ball and NOT taking sacks. That is a big part of why our O didn't get sacked that much. Too many people are fixated on how much rushing yardage running QB get, when they often can't produce with their arms and give up a lot of sack yardage.
There are plenty of times young QB get jittery and leave the pocket, and are sacked because the OL are playing the angles as if the QB is still in the pocket. They have to know where he is going to be in order to stay between the pass rusher and the QB. If the QB runs to a place the DL/LB are past the OL, there is nothing the OL can do. The QB has to use his head regardless of whether he is running or passing, reading the D and taking what he can get.
Lamar Jackson is #3 rated QB, #6 rusher.
LOL! We aren't going to touch that and I think everyone realizes it.
Having the ability to run should not preclude being a passing QB, rather be an asset that can leverage how teams have to defend against us.
We still need to be efficient in the air.
Definitely should be our strong side! Apparently the L side wasn't bad last year in their rush metrics.
Obviously room for improvement at pass blocking.
It's not just personnel, coaching and scheme are going to be different.
