With how the Chargers tend to start seasons, would it really surprise anyone if we lost? Even with Brissett starting..

I don't know what to expect.

If Rivers is harassed, Brissett isn't, & the Colts run the ball well - they'll probably lose. All 3 things could happen.

If Rivers can execute, Brisset can be flustered and we maintain even an avg rush defense, i see a 10 point win.

The problem is we have no idea what to expect as we haven't seen so many key players play any time. We reportedly more than held our own against the Rams and Saints when it was 1 vs 1. I guess we see what wrinkles the coaching staff has added and how the added depth in the front 7 pays off in keeping guys fresh with a rotation.

WE were @ 10th best run D for last season. 9th yds allowed, 11th yds per carry. I could see us getting better with Mebane on a snap count, Jones improved, Tillery & Broughton added on DL, added talent, health, experience & depth at LB.

we were not good at all last year..... those yardage stats are deceptive..... PPF ratings are closer to reality......

its not about total yardage or yardage per game or yardage per carry...... its about how do chargers do at stopping the run on 3rd and one or 4th and one......and
Chargers were horrible at that...... whenever teams needed to run they could run at will and our bad tackling also applied to little guys like edelman catching short passes then running over chargers defenders for 3 or 5 extra yards.......(see patriot game)..... we were able to stuff run against ravens in playoff game but that was because the threat of the pass was nearly zero.....

hopefully we will be better at tackling this year with Jones, tillery, Davis, and Tranquill ...... at least Davis is a sure tackler..... though we showed almost zero ability to tackle in pre season....

The addition of a dynamic TE back into our offense is being overlooked Imo.
