LA Chargers should expect a couple of years to develop an O-line. Rivers still wants to play, and with this team. I doubt any attempt at an upgraded O-line next year will allow an immobile Rivers (who had little time to throw) will do much better. As TT has said and we all know, it takes awhile to get an O-line in sync with each other. If only Rivers was just a little more mobile. Hell, Ben Rotehlisberger is a big guy and manages to scramble pretty well. It'll be an interesting off season to say the least.

I do too. If Rivers at least makes a Super Bowl I would thank God for that.

I teared up a bit watching this. I hate that he never won a Super Bowl in SD man....
Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

          - 69-74 record
          - 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
          - Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
          - 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
          - 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
          - Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
          - Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games

Rivers playing on a torn ACL a week later was incredible (but he didn't come back in the game it happened, Volek finished).

Josh McCown of the Eagles playing the whole game immediately after his hamstring was ripped off of the bone is damn impressive!

Does anybody get the feeling that if the chargers don't pick up Rivers for next year he could be heading for Minnesota. Cousins is not the answer there after losing today in the playoffs. There will be a team out there for him to play for nest year.

i dunno. rivers cant win the big games either. and in that game against 49ers today he woulda been sacked 10 times. that front 7 contained everything.

Sunday 9/13/20 at the Jaguars will be Rivers 225th consecutive start and 72 consecutive starts behind Brett Favre's all time record of 297 which could be broken in 2024 (including the playoffs it will be Rivers 236th consecutive start which also 2nd all time, and 85 behind Favre's total record of 321).

This is very impressive as Philip cream of the 04 class has done this healthy (other than a torn ACL which he played on anyways) when there are players like Rodgers class of 05 and Brees class of 01 and Brady class of 00 aren't even in the realm.

Russell Wilson (class of 2012) of the Seahawks is currently at 128 (puts him on pace for 249 in 8 years drafted 8 years after PR), if no Brees on Bolts in 04 and 05 Rivers would be at 247 right now and way past Marino for total yards & TD's.

Rivers will get at least 23 TD's this year and pass Marino. Needs a few more years to catch Favre, Manning, Brady & Brees and I personally believe with his intelligence he could play past 45 but he wants to coach his high school sons on Fridays which I hope the Colts will let him do that on Fridays and play for them as well the next 10 years and lets him do both!

Here are the NFL ALL TIME QB passing yardage leaders:

                    1 Drew Brees 77,416 2001-2019 2TM
                    2 Tom Brady 74,571 2000-2019 nwe

Once again Rivers will easily pass Marino this season and needs a few more to catch Favre, Manning, Brady and Brees if he keeps playing. (Matt Ryan a very nice somewhat quiet career keeps moving up the ladder as well).

Rivers also set an NCAA record of 51 consecutive starts at N.C. State.

Mods feel free to move this to "other NFL"

Remember the suspicion that Rivers was a male succubus: that he sucked the health out of other players?
                      Maybe we were wrong!

                      Next up, the Spanos family.

Sunday 9/20/20 vs the Vikings will be Rivers 226th consecutive start and 71 consecutive starts behind Brett Favre's all time record of 297 which could be broken in 2024 (including the playoffs it will be Rivers 237th consecutive start which also 2nd all time, and 84 behind Favre's total record of 321).

uh....no.....there's no way he's going to get close unless there are a ton of playoff games in the next 3 seasons. If phillip rivers thinks he can play till 42 then he's going to have to hire a personal trainer to put him thru hell even in the off season. In other words work 3 times harder than he has in the past plus a very rigorous diet regime.
