Merged. We dont need a bunch of hypothetical dramatic threads about big name players. You want to talk about Telesco changing the culture through trades do it in this thread.

Until you know what Rivers plans are....its hard to speculate what we should do. He may be putting off retirement vibes. If not he is likely 30M next year. You want to trade multiple 1sts for a LT when you have Okung? Who plays RT? And why pay a RT that much money? Let alone sacrificing our ability to draft a QB if Rivers does retire by using our 1st rounders? Mid round picks for players maybe. But we keep throwing around multiple 1sts for players. Could you image if we didnt have a high pick the year we drafted Rivers? Franchise QBs are special for a reason. They keep you grounded for years. Until we know what our QB situation for the next couple years you have to hold onto your picks.

Do i want Williams? Ramsey? Green? Yes....it would be fucking hot having stud players on this team. But you dont bring these types in with a max contract QB and a bunch of really high priced players needing to be signed on the horizon.

Its fun to fantasize about...but i have to think Telesco is really stressing about the post Rivers era. And at the rate we injure players? Id just assume draft them. Not pay them 20M per and also 2 #1s. And then put them on IR. Green can be had cheaper probably. But the same guys bitching about injuries are throwing out Green? Really?

This is chess gentlemen. Not checkers.

If 30 yr old WR Mohammed Sanu can net a 2nd rd pick then Melvin Gordon should be able to land a 2nd as well or at worse two 3rd picks.

Come on Telesco, stop trying to teach him a lesson and just ship his ass off and gain some assets to use.

He’s not even playing hard because he wants to avoid injury. Keeping him on the roster is cutting off the nose to spite the face.
Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

          - 69-74 record
          - 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
          - Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
          - 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
          - 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
          - Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
          - Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games

You actually think someone would give up a 2nd round pick for a RB who you think isn't playing hard and is averaging 2.3 yards a carry?

Another reason I want to dump Ingram and get something in return while he still has value. Clear space and keep options open next year.

                the treadmill of mediocrity
A cheap Dean-o who just stfu's and writes checks is an impediment to winning, but as long as J.Spanii is president of football operations instead of a real football person, this team will be hamstrung worse than adderley.

But GM is the problem as well for continuing to draft players with a history of injury or who are injured at the time we draft them, and then expecting them to be healthy while they are here... unless he is just signing off on bad advice from pro-scouting or from J.Spanii (who names a bunch of these injured dudes in his bio like he personally panned draft gold).

Players with real value for rebuild are players none of us want to give up .Keenan ,Bosa,Mike Williams ,Melvin ,Rivers ,MG3....Keenan would net a 2nd and maybe a fourth ,Bosa 2 firsts maybe more Mike Williams a second Melv maybe a third Rivers A first and third MG3 maybe a 4th .Bosa is our best defensive player but the chances he reups here is zero .I would explore a trade for Bosa and Rivers or be left getting nothing when they leave .I love these two players two incredibly gifted men but if you could rebuild this team from two players that are leaving it's irresponsible not to do it .

                    It's Greene.

That kid's name was Moe Greene and the city he invented was Las Vegas. This was a great man, a man of vision and guts. And there isn't even a plaque, or a signpost, or a statue of him in that town!
We do not play modern football.

It's Lorne Greene. He owned the ponderosa near lake tahoe nevada before he traded it in for the galactica

Problem is the front office doesn't think they are in rebuild mode and neither do I. They think with Rivers they have a real shot but won't get him the OL.

Imo its pretty ridiculous to do what you are suggesting.
I'd try and trade Ingram sure but he hasn't ever lived up to his billing. I'd take the pic or picks and let Nwosu take his place.
Maybe trade Gordon if they feel they can't retain him and it seems they can't so move him. We are 2-5 now.

With Ingrans cap hit next year and small dead hit if released that makes some sense. If Nwosu is handling Leo fine it makes more sense. But im wondering if Bradley needs to be replaced.
