I said before that if this game was close we would likely lose....... because for this game to be close we had two be playing badly and we did.....raiders have the worst pass defense in NFL and one of best run defenses, so chargers game plan was to run the ball as much as possible and run out the clock???? keeping the game close and giving raiders confidence to win.....

a smart coach would have tried to throw the ball on that bad pass defense and score lots of TD's to force raiders to beat us with the pass...... but we did opposite and lost another ugly game to an inferior team....... raiders even missed an extra point giving Chargers a minute and 3 TO's to get into FG range......we are probably only team that could not at least get into FG range with that amount of time and 3 TO's....... but we called the worst plays we could and never gained even a foot....... embarrassing ending to this game.......

Lynn said we had a chance to win........but....... the usual excuses......
I think a big reason why the Chargers lost because they went away from the run in the second half. It was working and the pass blocking was atrocious. We should not have thrown so much, especially on slow developing pass plays.

The picket fence happened. Carr was able to throw immediately before the pass rush got to him, and his receivers had a 5-10 yard cushion. Bradley lost the game with that shitty scheme at the end.

Did he bring up our perennial worst o-line and defensive choke-job? Coaching and trenches...the key to winning.

We are definitely in agreement on this.

I feel like the offense should be focused on short passing game and run game early and often to get in rhythm especially with a struggling oline in pass blocking.

Maybe it'll help. Id like to see them change things up.

Defense wasn’t to blame that last series- but the D gave up 16 pts. The turnovers gave them 10. D held on the FG.

So if Rivers is going to spot them that much, they better be prepared to blow them out of the water.

They didnt. We moved the ball. Even with our awful line. But we quickly abandoned the run second half, and Rivers REALLY looked horrendous that last series. 0/7 and not a single pass hit the numbers. Was brutal to watch.

The 49ers built their team up from the trenches. That's where football games are won.
They needed someone a little better than Trent Scott at LT as a backup. Every year it seems draft pundits have us taking an OT w the #1 and every year they neglect it. Maybe they'll clue in after this season but don't get too hopeful

no...... that is not the point.... the run was keeping the game close ..... we were playing the worst pass defense in NFL..... yet we could not throw consistently on them...... that is bad...... we milked the clock every time we had the ball...... which kept the ball close allowing raiders to eventually win.....

we did not have a game plan of trying to score over 30 points...... our game plan was designed to score somewhere in the 20's...... which our coaches dont seem to realize keeps other teams close enough to win if we make any mistakes..... and we made plenty..... we can offset mistakes b y scoreing more points.....

Also Lynn made a huge mistake by winning toss for the first time and STUPIDLY chasing to the type ball first????????? for a team that always starts slow?????? and not doing the smart thing of wanting the ball to start the 2nd half????? like very opponent we play does?..... even KC does that and they have a great offense........ that allows you to score twice in a row just like raiders did today......

our DC needs to go..... he plays soft coveragec (oncedikng easy short passes) in every critical situation......

That's because of where we draft usually. Picking 17th doesn't lead many good OL and whenever we do have a top pick the BPA is always a non OL player

and not one of the passes or pass routes was designed to get a first down...... we never gained an inch...... looked like worst team in NFL on that last series...... and DC went to soft zone defense allowing raiders to move the ball at will...... maybe letting them score so quickly was part of the plan?...... giving chargers plenty off time and 3 TO's to score a game winning FG???

My guess is they draft some hyped up QB in the next two years, and he flames out immediately due to no o line and no coaching. Post Rivers era could look a lot like the Browns.
