Just Gonna Say It - Rivers Wont Be A Bolt Next Year

It looks like his body can't keep up with his mind anymore, and he's seeing ghosts and panicking in high pressure situations more than ever. Quite frankly, he doesn't look like an NFL starting caliber QB at the moment, and I've never thought that before even at his worst in 2011 and 2016.
It's a cold business, but on top of his play, his contract would be coming off the books at the right time when we have guys like Bosa, Henry, and others to resign to big deals within the next year or two. Get your QB of the future in this upcoming draft, whatever it takes, and then let's pray we get a stud to regroup for that next 3-4 year window of contention. There is a strong supporting cast in place, Rivers just can't take advantage of it right now. Make some improvements along the O-line and get a healthy Derwin James back, then we're in the game again.
You can not just decide its time to go get our QB, and it will happen. Tua? No thanks, even before the injuries. Burrow and Herbert? Miami and the Bengals aren't selling is my opinion. Fromm, Eason, etc...? Sure, why not half ass it, and settle for mediocrity at QB, like we have for OLine...
Even if we trade away the future for a QB...(and I agree if that is what it costs to get the right guy, then you have to do that...)then how the hell are you gonna fix the line? Say we actually pull off a deal, and nab our guy...how well do you think he is gonna perform behind this line?
If we move on from Rivers...so be it. But build the team up before we invest in a rookie QB, or it's gonna be a shit show. Let Tyrod run it for a year.
Best plan? Get Rivers back on a team friendly deal, buy some vets for the oline, draft some more guys to develop behind them...and maybe enjoy a couple of successful seasons. Then, with a developed oline, sell out for your QB. JMO.
Adopted Bolt: Kimani Vidal RB
Final prediction: Latham OT, Colson LB, Sainristil CB,Rice WR, Zinter OG, Nourzad OC, MacLachlan TE, Vidal RB, Lovett DT

That being said, I'd give Lynn one more year to fix this mess, than if it doesn't improve get him out of there.sigpic

Can that be possible? I'm not sure I've read 1 positive comment about our O line this year, and yet, according to some stat, they've provided Philip with enough time to get the ball out more so than just about anybody. Are the rest of the leagues O lines that much worse than ours?
TT has done a poor job building what we'd like to call a good line but comparitively, they're holding their own.sigpic

No one needs to worry about tanking ,,,,,, because im not sure we win another game this year even while trying 2 win,,, its starting 2 look like a top 5 pick 4 us. What would you do with a top 5 pick? Im taking a Qb for sure.Last edited by Electric Chicken; 11-19-2019, 06:52 AM.

No, I think they butchered the delivery of the stat last night, and it is the exact opposite of what you are understanding. Looking on Nextgen, Rivers has one of the quickest releases this season. There are a ton of QBs with average "Time to Throw" above 2.8 seconds, including greats like Russell Wilson.
That really didn't make much sense to me when they said it.
