Yep, that would be the wise decision. Question is... does Linderbaum want to go to Vegas...?
If they could draft Mendoza @#1... draft Vega @14... and sign Linderbaum... they could be in good shape on offense.
    Protect the QB
    Run the ball
    Play great defense

The majority consensus in here seems to be that the Raiders will use that #14 pick to draft Ioane but IMO, the Raiders need to replace Maxx on their already depleted and rudderless D. Of course, they now have copious amount of drafty capital to either trade upwards for a study Edge prospect or trade down from #14 to add more pieces to their O & D in any order which they desire.

This is why I believe they could turn their roster around in one season and be an 8-9 win team. I won't be surprised if they finish 3rd in the AFC West and the Chiefs finish last.
Why do you think the Chiefs are going to suck so bad?

Chiefs hold the #9 pick, their highest since 2013.

The McDuffie trade, added a second first rounder, #29 overall, a fifth rounder, a sixth rounder, and a 2027 third rounder (albeit, not likely to help this year)

This gives the Chiefs 9 picks total…and reminder, their GM often trades up or down.

The abundance of picks puts the Chiefs in a good spot to address WR, Edge, DB, and DT

Cap wise, they restructured Mahomes to save approx $45M. Releasing RT Taylor cleared $20M (-$7.3 dead money). Trading McDuffie cleared $13.6M. Chiefs now have $25M in total cap.

Is your reasoning Mahomes will be a worse QB than rookie Mendoza because he won’t be healed from his injury and Mendoza will be sensational out of the gate? Or they are a wash because injury offsets rookie status?

I think Brady and Kubiak can sell players on the new program built around Mendoza, plus money often speaks the loudest.

Wow - a whole $25m when you have to pay a draft class, including the NINTH Pick in the draft plus allocate for a practice squad and injured reserve. So that $25m is truly a net $10m of cap space.

I can see the Chiefs being in that 7-9 win range
I think the Raiders blew this thing up and will be in that 4-6 win range. All depends on how Spytek does it

A lot of idle speculation at this point.

I think the AFC is a tossup at this point because so much depends on how the respective drafts, FA, and of course injuries shake out over the coming season.

We had Slater and Alt good to go at this time prior to last season.

All I can say is every team in the AFC has reason for optimism at this point.

Crosby is top 2 or 3 at his position and a case can be made that he's the best Edge in the game. Makes everyone around him better. I don't get this one player away nonsense. Who knows? If they're healthy they have premium players all over and a good young defensive coach. Forget about one player away. A season ago in 24 they were one play away from the Super Bowl.

so what does this mean for Mack or Oweh in Baltimore? I think the chances of those guys returning to the Chargers just went up...
I dont. They are now 10 mil over the cap and still trying to resign Linderbaum

They can try, and it might work for some players...others may still be scared away by the instability caused by Bowlcut and his penchant for firing HC's every year or two...
