It's more about the guaranteed money though . . . . . the annual amount is more for optics, same as the overall total.

I'm not sure how much of an upgrade Graoppolo is over Carr. Having said that, the Raiders have a ton of holes - they'd be smart to just keep their picks and hope they hit on a bunch of them.

Or...how long he is going to last in the NFL? I could see teams giving up on him as a full time starter if he continues to get injured consistently and many games during any given season. Given that wouldn't a prudent organization have someone they're grooming in the background.
