I'd have preferred to trade Bosa, but maybe there wasn't much market for him? His contract would have been a difficult mountain to climb in a trade scenario . . . . as would be his injury history . . . . . . . and his mental midget status . . . . . .

His contract won’t dominate salary cap for 3 or 4 years, they will front load bonus money that amortizes across the contract with low initial base salary. I know Qsmoke won’t see this, if someone could tell him again he doesn’t know what the fuck he is talking about, that’d be great

I hope the team offers (and Herbert accepts) a long contract term a la Mahomes (10 years - maybe more), so the costs can be spread out and the team can work the future roster from a position of certainty. If they just give him a 4 or 5 year contract they're idiots - 40 or 50 mil / year will be 90 to 100 in 5 years time. Hopefully Herbert will be willing to accept a longer term deal, but it takes 2 to tango . . . . I'm sure his agent won't like it if he does .

If the team implodes - again - then a new coach and GM is the hope (my hope anyway). The biggest hope, of course, is new OWNERSHIP. But that's probably not going to happen. So until that glorious day, if it ever happens, I suppose we're stuck on rinse and repeat mode.
