Which is why, of course, RBs are under-valued. But in the case of Ekeler, unlike most RBs, he is a pretty big part of the passing game as well. He had 107 catches for 722 yds and 5 TDs in 2022. Those are better numbers than most WRs in the NFL. He is a rare type of dual threat like Christian McCaffrey. Which is why I agree he is underpaid. His production is equal to and in some cases exceeds (scoring) McCaffrey's. McCaffrey makes +$16 mil per year under his current contract.
It's not about what Ekeler has done as a receiver out of the backfield. It's about what you think he will do moving forward. On top of the inevitable sharp decline Ekeler is about to face soon, Tom Telesco just invested a first-round pick in Quentin Johnston. With the addition of Johnston...along with Mike Williams and Keenan Allen hopefully staying healthy...and Joshua Palmer also in the mix...and the hiring of Kellen Moore as the offensive coordinator, I don't see Ekeler coming close to catching 107 passes this season. Nobody wants that, either, because it's not ideal in this offense for him to do so.
So what's left for Ekeler? More carries? Unfortunately that's not his strong suit, as evidenced with him getting 35 yards on 13 carries in the playoff loss to Jacksonville...and five yards on four carries in the regular-season loss to the Jaguars...and 122 yards on 33 carries in the two losses against the Chiefs...and 71 yards on 24 carries during the two games against the Raiders...and 70 yards on 25 carries during the two games against the Broncos last year.
Peters is a perfect fit for the Raiders in terms of his behavior and attitude. He once was a very good player, but those days after so many injuries seem behind him.

Hoping he pulls a Tillery and get us a first down on crucial moments.
Saquon Barkley and the Giants agreed on a 1-year $11 mil contract. That's about $1 mil more than the franchise tag would've paid him. And if they franchise him again next year it has to be 20 percent higher, which would be $13.2 mil.
