The single biggest blight on Anthony Lynn's tenure was hiring George Stewart and then sticking with him when the results were awful.
Lynn was responsible for Stewart's failure. While Stewart obviously didn't get the job done, Lynn stuck with him anyway-- a horrible decision-- which is on nobody but Lynn.
He should have been fired after the 2018 season even though the team went to the playoffs. Two years was enough data to show he was not the right coach
There was absolutely ZERO reason to bring him back after the 2019 -and I could argue for replacing Gus Bradley though Eric Williams had salient points why Gus would be fired
. But yes, bringing back George Stewart for the 2020 season was all on Lynn. Pay the man off - send him to retirement in a dignified way -say it was Georges "idea" but he needed to be replaced.

Who would you have been able to bring in after firing a coach who won a playoff game and went 13 -5?.
Unless a head coach loses the respect of the team, 4 years is about right.

I agree. Win column talks in the NFL. Unless he did something against the law.
Pep Hamilton ?
Shane Steichen ?
Where did Herbert's numbers come from ?
Our new staff starts in first gear.
Pep
Private coaches
Receivers
Herbert himself
The top level coaching staff repeatedley put him in tough situations unnecessarily. He performed well in those leverage and pressure situations, but that's credit to HIM, not Lynn and Steichen.

The single biggest blights on Anthony Lynn's tenure were 1) that he was a game day tactical moron and 2) that he was far too preoccupied with establishing the running game at the cost of little things like winning football games.

Yep...we call him "Loyal Lynn" for a reason...sometimes, loyalty can sink your own ship...
