You think that might have something to do with coaching or oline more than a Qb pushing through the A gap by himself?

I have yet to actually hear from Rivers stating it was mutual. Does anyone have any sources that quote Rivers as saying he wanted to leave or is this all from the Chargers?

      I suspect it’s the latter.

Nah! Brady is smaller and slower than Rivers, but his explosion metric is through the roof.

His “playing with the best coach in nfl history” metric is through the roof!

Its the latter, until proven otherwise. Rivers was looking forward to playing in the new stadium.

I don't know, Rivers said that in 2017, but after 3 years and 30 "road" games at "home" could of taken it's toll especially following the 2019 season seeing a 5-11 team move into a bigger stadium could mean even more road fans, Rivers got the heck out of CA fast not knowing if they would negotiate or tag him, I feel like Rivers wanted out.

I accept that our Rivers glory days are done and gone but still remain curious if the spaznos front office had decided even before last season they were gonna draft a shiny new QB for the brand new digs regardless of PRs performance.Just got a feelin.

The hardest thing is to play for a boss that doesn't want you there. Apathetic or hostile fans is a distant, distant 2nd.

If it’s so hard he could have chose to not re-sign

Lots of speculation here (it is a forum after all). The only thing we know is the vague statement by the Chargers and nothing from Rivers.
