If you lookin dictionary under “Bridge QB” there’s a picture of Tyrod.
The Titans brought in a $5 million FA QB last year. His career QB rating was probably below 89. Then he ended up getting a higher PFF rating than fanboy fantasy Mahommes... Look deeper everyone...

Well, close enough...Tannehill's career rating is 89.8, but it was worse than that before he came to the Titans and posting that 117.5 rating last year. In two of his early years, Tanny was 76 and 81...ouch...so, it just shows that in the right system, a change of scenery can work wonders for some players...

So the question is - who's this years QB that will become very good by changing teams?

            Some here think it's Tyrod.

All you guys that suddenly think Tyrod is the answer - are you the same guys that thought Cleo Lemon was "it"?

Who is pimping Tyrod as a superstar? He is a competent bridge qb with a manageable cap number. Hes no Aaron Rodger but he is light years better than Cleo Lemon. He’s the answer to the short term question but not the long term question.

Who are you going to sign better than Tyrod for the same cap number? We aren’t getting rid of Rivers because he no good we are getting rid of him because we can’t afford his cap number and retain our other core players that are FA eligible. Going out and signing some top FA QB puts us in same position we were with Rivers. Get a 1st round QB in this years draft and work him in with Tyrod or Get a 1st next year and go with Tyrod 16 games this year. Either scenario has us taking a QB high while keeping cap number low and replacing Tyrod.

Several posts have praised Tyrod and even suggested we may have a great season with him at QB. I just think it's sad that they pit down Rivers but praise his backup.

Aside from that, I pretty much agree with you. He's a stop gap and he'll fill the bill until a rookie QB is ready.

He is a backup round the league. We are making him our starter.

I’m scratching my head at why anyone wants a bridge QB in the first place. Either get a legitimate starting QB as a FA or via trade or bite the bullet and devote the draft pick and time for a rookie QB who is the future. Maybe if the rookie is not quite ready you start Taylor for a few games but that is it. Giving him an entire season without the future QB on the roster would be utterly wasting a season. Guys like Taylor and Fitzpatrick bounce around from team to team, getting benched and cut for a reason - they aren’t good enough to win a Super Bowl.

Coach Lynn also is advocating for the path of least resistance. If the Chargers are going to ask me to take this leap of
faith with Taylor at QB, they better design an offense around Taylor's skill-set, and to get the ball out of his hands and into his playmaker's hands.
What have they done recently that gives you any reason to put that faith in them. The problem is you will do it anyway and not hold them accountable, and then next season give them another leap of faith and then again and again.

This organization needs to be held accountable by its fans.

Because people drink the FO and Spanii cool aid like we have all done for years. We keep giving them the benefit of the doubt and they keep screwing it up.

The very obvious answer is to draft a qb they love and roll with them, using the cap capital to try and build a contender for the next 5 years before having to pay your rookie QB big money. But hey it seems like their genius plan all along was waste millions of Tyrod last year instead of building a winner and they’re going to stick to that plan this year.

                          Brilliant.
