So the Bolts can spend for FAs only because Rivers contract is gone? But they can offer Brady 60 mil and can't offer Rivers 25mil? I say it again, the cap room is there, the Bolts just chose to go cheap when Rivers was at qb.

We offered Brady 30 a year. It’s not about going “cheap” on Rivers. Loyalty rarely exist in sports. If I can find someone who can give me the same, if not more production, why should I continue choosing you?

Two things:
1. TT was kind of hamstrung by Rivers's mega contracts, so not a whole lot of cap room...(still, I would have liked to have seen a few trades...)
2. TT now has $$$ to play with, but he's also in the hot seat. Either win now, or he may well be gone after next season...

I don't know how our cap next season looks now, but a couple of days ago we had the second most cap space of any team in the league for 2021. None of our signings are huge so we should be in excellent shape.

Its about going cheap on players when Rivers was here. And I think Brady would have quit if he had to play behind the OL that Rivers had. No way he takes that beating.

Bosa's upcoming deal, if it happens, will be a challenge...no doubt about it...as much as I like Bosa, I'm inclined to trade him for a high pick, especially if he asks for too much $$$...

I agree that we can win this way, but I think our defense, even with the excellent additions of Harris and Joseph (apparently it was in TT's DNA after all to sign a run stuffing DT), is still not that kind of defense...yet. I would love to see another good DL player added for a deeper and better DL rotation and, of course, for us to take Simmons at #6 overall if he is there. Then, I think we would be getting pretty close.

I'm wondering back how many older vets of quality acquired, for seemingly short term, have impacted this teams reach for the playoffs and beyond recently. I mean, that window has sorta opened and closed a few times now. One more time to try, I suppose. Here's to our new 2 year window of opportunity and starting from scratch without a franchise QB and a cowbell at RB position.
