If he needs to see 2 specialists, it sounds bad enough that he should just sit out the last 4 games with this OL of swiss cheese. A broken index finger wont heel good enough to grip and throw a football accurate. If he does that he wil get pounded by the pundits saying he is regressing....hec they already are.

Look at it this way...we get to see what easton Stick can actually do as an NFL QB. Zero pressure on him to succeed as a temporary QB with a team heading into the playoffs. Players should be playing for their next years job as they say.

Saw where possible surgery tomorrow. Go straight from there back to an Oregon cabin somewhere and start worrying about football again in March.

At least the next 4 losses won't go on Justin's win/loss record. His should be better than it is but with weak owners, weak HC and GM.....his record says he is mediocre.....because of them!

We have to sober up about Herbert. He got us all drunk on the kool aid in his rookie season and it just hasn’t been great since then. This season he has truly looked ordinary. Meanwhile I’m seeing guys like Jake Browning, Will Levis and DeVito play inspired football and lead their teams to wins. Herbert may be too laid back to be great. And sure he’s been saddled with bad coaching g and ownership but I’m not seeing it out of him

I am not seeing Herb use his best asset. The long bomb. We have not seen this since his rookie year.

This is what sets Herb apart from other QB's, he can make throws others cannot.

I understand the injuries have prevented him throwing deep, so i hope he takes the rest of the year off and comes back healthy.

We've seen it plenty of times but I get what your saying... That's what happens when his weapons like MW get injured every year and the scrubs behind him can't perform.

And an offensive line that can't block worth a damn.

What the eff do you want him to do? From Week 9 to this Sunday, there were 20 drops
That includes a half dozen by Allen - hell, three in the Green Bay game alone, two for touchdowns. Popper even said he had a drop, tough catch, but a drop against Denver this week that would have beena big play
Parham has had drops and it seems they always come on third down where the team has to punt; Ekeler has had drops, Palmer and QJ have had drops, Everett had a tough catch this Sunday, would have been a score - same as the KC game, tough catch but would have been a score

Second, there was a stat that shows what QBs have the biggest windows to throw in (Tua by a mile) and smallest, Bryce Young was first and Justin Herbert was second

How about OLine play? It sucks
                      running game - it sucks

Herbert can play better - the Dallas game was rough and the the first part of the Denver game too - but give him a bit better coaching, a bit better OLine and Running game, maybe a few less drops and at least one true playmaker on offense. The Niners have three playmakers for Purdy. Herbert truly doesn't have one playmaker with the ball.

None of our wrs are getting any separation, seems like every throw is into a tight window or a jump ball contested catch . Herbert also doesn't go deep as often because the O line can't block for shit

You aren't taking in another factor - besides WRs that cannot get deep consistently, the Oline needs to give him friggin time to get deep
But look at Guyton, guy is carrying an extra 15 pounds and it doesn't look like muscle. He needed to be cut if that is the kind of shape he is in
