I’ll admit I heard an interview with Herbert and the kid sounds impressive. I heard he was smart and had a good head on his shoulders. It gives me hope he is humble and smart enough to learn because based on the tape he needs it.

Heres hoping he can start in a year or two, the Chargers window may be closing due to losing some big names by then.

Correct! But we can't replace them all in one draft either. Belicheck might be sucking wind for a season or two until he finds a competent QB he can work with. It happens to the best of us.

GREAT post! I believe Herbert will have to do some restructuring on what it means to be a successful QB. Right now if he played from game one this year he'd probably end up on injured reserve within a month. He needs to change his thinking IMO (I say that based on his behavior at the combine. This is all a head-job IMO and the fact he's humble and has shown excellent focus before gives me a lot of hope he can manifest that level of change. He really seems like a great young man. I'm rooting for him!

Oh yeah no doubt, it just feels like there’s a real opportunity to compete now with the level of talent in this team for the next year or two. I’m still hoping the kick the tires on Cam over Tyrod, if cam plays motivated he can take a team to the big game, Tyrods ceiling is first round and out.

Bosa, HH, Derwin, Keenan, SupaMel, etc can all be resign if the organization sees them as key parts going forward. Age, production, depth chart, etc all plays into it.

I disagree, they’re all going to want big money and will walk. If they walk it’s highly unlikely we can replace them in the draft easily. It’s hard to find talent like this in the draft, the chargers have a good young core, that are running out of those team friendly rookie deals.

We have about $145 million in 2021 cap space, franchise tags, no huge QB contract for 4-6 years, and probably 2 comp picks in 2021 coming.
