Not sure if this has been posted yet but an excellent breakdown of Herbert’s mechanics, physical tools, and character makeup.

That's why it's important to get him a redshirt year if possible. There's a lot he needs to fix. And I don't agree that he's Trubisky. At least not yet anyways. Herbert at least started all 4 years at college so he has more experience.

Herbert does have a few mechanics issues. Processing I’m not sure as the Duck scheme is complete garbage.
Whomever is giving this tutorial doesn’t talk anything other than his assertions, certainly not anything of substance.
The breakdown by 2, former college/NFL, QBs is more in depth and deals with more tangible criticisms.

I hear you but someone who starts all 4 years shouldn’t be so mercurial. It makes more sense for some who only started a year.

the guy seems really smart though which leads me to hope that it was system and lack of consistency. It’s just worrying because there’s so much riding on him. Here’s hoping

Someone who started all four years shouldn’t have had the turn around at coach/player spots he did. Guess it matters.

He will now have a legitimate QB coach for the first time in his career, along with the work he is doing with 3DQB so hopefully his fundamentals will be cleaned up.

In the end, he should start when he is ready, whether that is at the beginning of the season, mid-season or next season.

In case this hasn't been posted. Here's a sit down interview that Mark Sanchez did with Herbert (sort of like what Gruden used to do). Found it pretty interesting.

I'm wondering how much action Herbert will see during preseason. They'll probably want to check out Stick more, for whatever reason. I realize that Taylor will get a lot of 2nd and 3rd preseason game snaps. I just hope to see me some Herbert playtime added in before the 4th preseason final evaluation, with Stick probably taking most of the snaps. Didn't Lynn mention something about a Tyrod Taylor/Herbert duel for starting QB? It could happen. It'll also come down to the practice field and what the coaches see, not just a preseason game or two where Herbert possibly impresses fans.

Starting to love Justin’s mental makeup to be incredibly successful as an NFL QB!
