We certainly don't want to rush Hollywood Herbie into the lineup before he's ready, and destroy his confidence. Herbie sits and learns behind Tyrod.

I don’t want to rush him either but I also want to get him as much live game experience as possible to give him a chance at a title during his rookie contract years.
hopefully we can find some snaps after a few blowouts this season.

My guesstimation is he has an increasing number of packages, which max out about 3/4 by end of season, beginning around mid-season .

I want him to play. He’s a superstar, future HOF, All Time Bolt Great ... get him out their and start winning now!

ok, some joking there. But I don’t think QBs learn that much watching with a clipboard. his psyche won’t be irreparably crushed if he’s inserted too early. Winners win. Remember Foust - he completely sucked prior to Coryell. If plays none in 2020, he’s not ready for 2021. Jmo, ymmv. Dude is wicked smart And will learn the paper binder notations by game 1. What he needs is to see live fire and learn to shoot. He comes in with some mechanics corrections needed, and that is what I watch to decide when he is ready if i’m HC.

their roster is good enough to win now with TT, so like many - i don’t expect to see him much this year. I don’t want to see him in trick packages personally, either he’s starting QB or he’s not.

Aaron has been on a roll lately
looks and sounds a bit matured since draft day

I'm gonna get booed for this but I still wish the Bolts had signed Teddy Bridgewater and taken Isaiah Simmons or Wills or Becton. We could be ready to take over the AFC West if we had done that.

Long term though, I guess taking Herbert will turn out to be the right thing.

                    What do you prefer:

Herbert, Bosa, Baluga & Chris Harris; or
                    Just Bridgewater?

Cuz if we paid Bridgewater $21 mil a year, which is what the Panthers are paying him, there would be no extension for Bosa or the acquisitions of Baluga and Harris.

Herbert is making $6.625 million per year, freeing up $ to lock up JoBo and sign Baluga and Harris.

Bridgewater represented a savings of about $4 million per year over Rivers. I think I would have kept Rivers.

The only way you could have been right is if they choose the best of Simmons, Wills or Becton.
+ T. Taylor and/or E. Stick are the answer at QB for the next 10-12 years.

As someone who loved Teddy Bridgewater and believe he got the short end of the stick with Norv as his OC, I can agree somewhat. Even though I am currently grateful we grabbed Herbert. Just wished we had gotten an LT in the draft as well. TT and the FO seem to be on the Pipkins train to not even look at Jason Peters or draft someone to compete.
