At least with Tyrod sidelined, Lynn now has a scapegoat if/when the team starts losing.

assuming we don't score a td
So as much as I love JH, that int was costly
Maybe a math genius here can do the win percentage thing they do in poker, but my guess is that Lynn is right to emphasize turnover differential as much as he does.
I think where many here are far apart is in how much Lynn emphasizes it.
Moving on from Rivers has left a sour taste for many and is leading to one dimensional narratives about Lynn as a coach.
What my posts have shown pretty clearly is that Taylor likely never would have had us in FG range in the first place. In other words, the assumption being made is unwarranted.
I showed that in week 1, Taylor started with the ball at our own 25 or further back nine times and produced all of one FG in all of those series combined--against the lesser Bengals.
To me, it is not too difficult to estimate what Taylor likely would have done on the Herbert INT drive. He very likely would have produced 0-2 first downs and we would have punted with less time coming off of the clock that what actually happened and with the Chiefs in even better field position to score.
So even the INT series was an improvement from what Tyrod did on series after series in week 1.
Meanwhile, while Taylor produced 3 points on 9 such drives, Herbert produced 13 points on 7 such drives against a better team.
This isn't rocket science. If this were at all a close call, then I would have no issue with Lynn's approach. The problem is that the play of the two QBs was not close at all and Lynn seems like he is grasping at straws with weak arguments to try to justify the result he wants when the result really has no legitimate justification. In my view, that is a major problem when the HC does that.
Since Herbert is already better than Taylor and more experience for Herbert only stands to widen that gap, Herbert should be starting now regardless of Taylor's health.
I do not see Rivers as being relevant to this discussion.

bad decision but almost the throw of the year.
looks like he was over compensating from a few over-throws earlier in the game.
