OC at the time. Luckily he'll only be a QB coach here. Maybe he can add to the Steichen and Scherer offensive meetings. But ultimately just needs to focus on getting Herbert up to speed on his mechanics and vision.

The more people we have to help screw in the lightbulb the better unless there's too many cooks in the kitchen!
Chiefs won the Superbowl with 10 Rookies....

Yes, having too many cooks in the kitchen can be bad. That's why you ideally need a good head chef to guide all those cooks and what their responsibilities need to be. As the QB coach, Pep's responsbilities should be simpler than the OC.

In other words, don't mess up Pep. We need Herbert to have at least perfect mechanics by opening week!

Meh. Everybody has position coaches, OC, DC, etc. If they conflict on what is whose responsibility, that's Lynn's job to sort out. It really should happen quickly & smoothly, not be a problem. All have NFL experience and know how it's supposed to work. If they do shit in each others Cheerios, heads should roll as soon as it happens.

There...fixed it for 'ya! Don't rush the kid...let him sit a season under Tyrod and learn the many things a QB needs to learn...

If Herbie is ready by midseason, fine. Just don't want to rush the guy. He has a lot to work on. Even Mahomes sat a year behind Alex Smith...

Regardless of it even if he could play by talent alone it will take at least by mid season just to get acclimated to the NFL, The playbook, and all his new team mates. Experienced QBs are going to look rusty enough!:2cents:

Yep...and this year, everything is behind schedule due to this Covid issue. I don't understand why some people want to rush Herbie into the starting lineup...

Not sure I read anybody wanting to rush him, just think some are being waaaaaaaaaaaay too conservative in their thinking. It’s football, he’s a football player, shouldn’t be rocket science (and even if it is, dude has a 4.0 lol).

Agree, I would like him to sit too but if he plays better than a 8year veteran right off the bat then you have to play him. You can’t just sit him artificially if his play is at a high level from the start.
