After completing my season review, here is my current I’m the GM roster build.
Get out of the way TT/Johnboy.

      LEGEND
      (R) = rookie
      (TC) = team captain
      (M) = million
      (G) = guaranteed
      (SB) = signing bonus
      (CH) = 2021 cap hit

      Key Cuts / Trades
Casey Hayward ($8.75) - traded to Jags for pick 152 (round 5)
      Trai Turner ($11.5)
      Chris Harris Jr. ($11.25)

      Key Unrestricted FA Lost
      SupaMel ($16.65)
      Mike Pouncey ($7.25)
      Tyrod Taylor ($7.5)
      VIrgil Green ($3.5)
      Denzel Perryman ($7.5)
      DSquare ($1.187)

Key Players Resigned / Contracts Restructured
      Michael Davis - 5yr - ($60M)/$30G/$20SB/$7CH
      Mike Williams - 4yr - ($44M)/$24G/$16SB/$7CH
      Hunter Henry - 4yr -($40M)/$22G/$14SB/$6CH
      Rayshawn Jenkins - 4yr - ($30M)/$16G/$12SB/$5CH
      Sam Tevi - 2yr - ($9M)/$5G/$4SB/$3CH
      Dan Feeney - 2yr - ($8M)/$4G/3SB/$3CH
      Nick Vigil - 2yr - ($7M)/$3G/$2SB/$3CH
      Iaasc Rochell - 1yr - ($2M)/$1.5G/$1SB/$1.5CH
      Linval Joseph - 2yr - ($14M)/$11G/$8SB/$6CH

I resigned Tevi and Feeney because they graded out higher than Lamp in 2020. Both have significant starting experience. Ideally we drive them to backup depth.

      * All RFA & ERFA will be resigned.

      FA TARGETS
      Dalvin Tomlinson (DT) - 5yr - ($60M)/$30G/$20SB/$8CH
      Ted Karras (OC) - 4yr - ($36M)/$21G/$14SB/$6CH
      Darqueze Dennard (CB) - 2yr - ($10M)/$6G/$4SB/$3CH
      Fabian Moreau (CB) - 2yr - ($7M)/$3G/$3SB/$2,5CH

      TOTAL 2021 Cap Space Used
      $181,000,000.00 Projected
      $162,865,000.00 USED
      $18,135,000.00 Unused

I don’t expect a ton of FA spending with the reduction in projected cap space. A concentration in retaining our own and a few strategic targeted signings. After veterans get cut for cap space, it will be a buyers market for a final piece or two.

This would include the 2021 draft of.......

      — Mauler with good feet, understands/uses great angles, serves pancakes in stacks, excellent length/uses it, nasty/drives opponents into the grass, plays thru whistle, needs time @ OG before sliding out to OT in year 3/4

That's quite a plan. Figuring out the cap hits and such is a hard part for me but that would be a nice haul.
Not sure if the Rookie Jordon Smith is ready to start at DE but maybe he and Nwosu can rotate.
Definitely an upgrade in the middle on D.

Maybe i missed it but what happened to Tillery?

The spotrac roster manager feature lets you play with under contract players, internal FA, outside FA to build the squad.

Jordan Smith was a 4 - star recruit that signed with the UFL Gators but got caught up in a credit card fraud scheme, went JUCO, then UAB. Kid is legit. Tore up UTN in 2019. He’ll play in a platoon on the EDGE with Bosa, Nwosu, Rochell, Tillery, and Snowden.

I have Tillery as a PRS anywhere along the Dline.

I love our Dline via my plan.
Tomlinson, Joseph, Jones, McNeill (1 of my favorite prospects) as our DT rotation.
Bosa, Smith, Nwosu, Snowden as our EDGE rotation.
        Tillery, Rochell as depth/injury replacements.

        My 2021 Adopt-A-Bolt List

        MikeDub
        K9
        Nasir
        Tillery
        Parham
        Reed

          Obvious red flag.
          Deano says no.
Exactly why Jordan Smith is off my board.

We will have a need this year to rely on ninja's voluminous 2019 draft film study, due to the small 2020 sample size.

I am looking for young, late risers consequently--that is where value exists.

I happen to disagree with ninja's, and Nutty's for that matter, draft/personnel strategy, but that's fine.

BTW chargeroo, Monty Rice, Georgia, may be still available at late round three PR comp pick, and is an excellent coverage LB fwiw.

Jayon Smith (edit: Jayon Brown) of the Titans is a UFA who should be on our watch list in the same vein.

Exactly why Jordan Smith is off my board.
No room for youth to make a mistake?
He has admitted his mistake, suffered, showed internal fortitude, climbed back step by step, put in a ton of hard work.

This is still me as the GM not what I expect the Chargers to actually do.

                      Understood.
However, there are different levels/types of youthful indiscretions.
For example, I touted red flagged Stephan Diggs predraft. No one else had him. Who cares about me substantiating my draft chops. The point is, what is the judgement call we make ?

Diggs was a tremendous midround value pick as everyone can clearly see now. His indiscretion ? Getting in an altercation at the pregame coin toss, out of hyper-competitiveness.
This is vs Jordan Smith with credit card fraud.

To not consider Charger front office factors, is to not be realistic.
It is fantasy football presented as real football takes in real draft threads. The rest of us SHOULD be challenging yours and Nutty's opinions, alongside your big contributions at TPB.
We do not play modern football.

That's quite a plan. Figuring out the cap hits and such is a hard part for me but that would be a nice haul.
Not sure if the Rookie Jordon Smith is ready to start at DE but maybe he and Nwosu can rotate.
Definitely an upgrade in the middle on D.

Really detailed job! I don't see cutting both Haywood or Harris, one stays. Also keep Square, good backup for reasonable price. Resign WR, Williams and green .keep Lamb, Draft OT, Edge. RB, /cb

In the 1st, 2nd and 3rd round we need to pick the best DT, CB, OT on the board in no particular order, and we still need a few burner WR's and a potential workhorse RB also need a replacement for Ingram.

The Chargers need to get big physical and fast.
