    Yes they did.

Is that Small School flava 'nuff foya ??
So 48 of their 53 players were not from small schools? 10% formula - Ok - fair enough - TT can shop at the sammie flea market once every 10 draft picks. THAT will be sammie enough for me because to be honest, his record is not good at all. Watching guys tape where they play against very inferior talent and projecting how they can step up against the best of the best is difficult work

Edit - and btw, Minn is Big 10. Vandy is SEC. So really you found 2. Sorry TT, your ration is cut to 1 every 25 picks.

Answer - he can't. For me, the order of importance for the team is the following

      1) OLine
      2) Special Teams (not via the draft but veterans in free agency)
      3) Edge
      4) CB
      5) IDL

So, you don't see WR or TE or the flashy guys. Telesco needs to get back to building blocks of a team. And last night showed, KC without its top two OTs were at a disadvantage.

Its imperative Telesco fix the damn OL. 2 in the first four rounds; another in rounds 5-7 and in free agency

Oh there's a literalist in the room.
        Trying to have fun here.

So if we are being literal regarding the premise, Cade Johnson (S Dakota St) and Jaelon Darden (N Texas) should not be drafted,
but Racey McMath (LSU) and Osirus Mitchell (Mich St) should be drafted.

BTW dmac, that Gopher program is ascending like a mofo.

I just want Telesco to go for doubles - said it earlier. The Chargers have a lot of pieces in place but they do have some needs. Don't get crazy, don't overthink it - get good solid players from good solid football programs.

First five picks -- its up front with one CB: OT, OL, IDL, Edge and CB.

You are correct. You can find talent anywhere.
Kurt Warner went to Northern Iowa, then world league, then arena league, the bagging groceries.

You don't have to convince me there is talent outside the major programs.

But Vandy is SEC that's a power 5 conference.
And Minn is BIG10 another power 5 conference.

Temple in the AAC is that next group of conferences after the power 5. Like Mountain West and and Sun Belt,CUSA and the MAC.. They are like 6, 7, 8, 9 10 after the power 5.

I'm just saying that it's not the best idea to go discount store shopping all over the country when building a team. At least not heavy drafting with early pick many times over and over and over.

Like I said earlier, Sammie Small Schoolers can be a crapshoot...some pan out, others don't...percentages of success go up more with players with a decent track record and/or from a big school conference...

I'll have you know I touted the heck out of Buffalo Bill WR John "Smoke" Brown, the former Pittsburg St (KS) Gorilla. The former winner of the Ickey Woods Award is fast...real fast.

Mager has been out of football since 2018...what a reach, bust and waste of a 3rd round pick...

4th rounder traded for Te'O who was a serviceable LB in the NFL but was he worth the extra 4th
Attaouchu - was he worth an extra 4th rounder? Umm, no
                        Mager
Max Tuerk - may he RIP but he was not a good Pro player
Josh Perry - LB from Ohio State - out after one year, since retired after he tried with the Colts
Melvin Gordon - cost the team a 4th round pick
                        Trey Pipkins - a 3rd round pick
Kennethy Murray - cost the team a 3rd round pick - remains TBD if a good use of the pick

Sensing a pattern here - Telesco between trading away fourth rounders, and missing on both 3rd and 4th rounder - its been a big issue. And the key to a teams drafts are really those 2nd through 5th rounders. They are cheap contracts for four years. Its why if the right guy isn't there at 13 - I am okay trading back to possibly get one, maybe two more picks in these rounds.

This is where you add depth and cheap players.

Yep...I've been banging the table against trading away those round 2, 3 and 4 players for YEARS...out of all those 5-6 players we threw away, or those Sammie Small School reaches, if even TWO of them had panned out into solid starters, it would be worth it to keep them...
