Me I see more value in staying put at #17 and I’m aware of the history, doesn’t mean it won’t happen but history says otherwise…
Is this the equation you are working from Fouts2Herbert?

A Telesco first round (20s) draft pick plus a 3rd round draft pick equals zero

And what if you don't like the leftovers and there is no really good offer to trade down?

There will be more that 16 good players in the draft this year. Stay put and take a solid player at 17. Do not gamble a solid player away at the hopes of a better one falling to the end of the round.

If there is no trade down offer that gives you added value, you make your pick based on who’s available. It’s all about maximizing the total value of your draft picks. If I could trade a tier 3 pick for two tier 4 picks, I’d do it.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

If Ken Walker is there at the top of Second round or at pick 32 I wouldn't shed a tear if we gave up next years first for him.

            Agree.

Late first, early 2nd round draft picks.

Everyone else is 3rd round or later: i'm guessing the run on running backs begins in or near (comp picks) round 4.

Would you make that trade at the beginning of round 3?

I think the Saints are going with Winston as their starter. He did well before he got hurt.
I think they'll make sure he's protected (LT) and get him a weapon opposite Michael Thomas.

For a high 2nd and high 3rd, the reverse of the Murray trade? I’d require more because Murray was a later 1st rounder. For a late 1st and late 2nd, yes.

Bet they draft the OT first, then keep teams guessing about their next pick. Best case scenario for them, some QB hungry teams trades with us, and their targeted WR drops into their lap.

As posited, I predict we roll with Pipkins/Storm,
with Feiler or even Aboushi as emergency back ups,
                      but I am not thrilled.

BTW LAC had nobody, no-body at the Central Michigan Pro Day.

You know what that means ?
                      Either we are interested in
                      Raimann, Goedeke,
                      or we are not.

                      TT so sneaky...

I am of the opinion that there are a lot of dudes that I like in the first round, many of whom would be available after pick 17. Here are guys that I think could be drafted, or at least in consideration, in the first round:

                          OT: Neal, Ekwonu, Cross, Penning
                          IOL: Linderbaum, Zion, Kenyon Green
WR: Williams, Olave, Wilson, Burks, London
RB: Breece Hall, Ken Walker III
QB: Pickett, Corral, Howell (not for us, but some team will most likely)
                          DI: Jordan Davis, Wyatt
Edge: Thibodeaux, Hutchinson, Walker, Johnson, Karlaftis
                          LB: Lloyd, Dean
CB/S: Hamilton, Gardner, Stingley, Booth, Elam, McDuffie, Brisker, Cine, Dax Hill

That is 35 guys and I'm sure some might add a few to the mix that I haven't. Even if you remove all QBs and RB's, you've still got 30 guys and ALL could help. If we could trade back no more than 10-12 picks, we should get a name from the above list and an added pick or two. I'm good with it.
