Slater is a unilaterally highly rated player...we stayed put and he fell in our hands, improving our oline. There is a ton of DBs and Edge left for tommorrow...very talented DBs and Edge...what the hell are you so doom and gloom for?

Slater is a very good football player. That has never been the issue with him. The issue is solely whether or not he can play LT in the NFL. He may well be able to do so, but lots of analysts questioned that possibility.

It is not crazy to be at least a little bit concerned about that issue.

The good news is that Slater has the potential to be great (and the Raiders took Leatherwood at #17 overall).
