Like you, I think DT is a big need. I think Davis will be gone, too. I prefer to address NT/DT through FA. Sebastian Joseph-Day is 1 of the guys I hope we get. He's not Davis... but he's good in the system Staley likes to run.
I like Tevaughn Campbell, too. But if Michael Davis, or Samuels, get hurt... I think we're not deep enough. I haven't gone too deep on the CB class, yet. But I have watched most of the 1st-3rd round prospects. I've found that, half way through the 2nd round, prospects start having warts. Some cover well, but are poor tacklers. Tell me which 4th round prospects you like... I'll take a look.
I agree with most of what you’re saying. I have Sebastian Joseph-Day as FA target #1, just like Corey Linsley was my FA1 last year.
And yes, 4th rounders don’t have starting grades, hence the 4th round. But if Campbell, Davis, and Samuel are the starters then we are drafting the CB position strictly for depth purposes, meaning they should get time to develop.
Just look at Michael Davis and Campbell. Two undrafted guys, and now they’re starters.
Draft strategy is based on what happens in FA, which none of us can forecast. But here’s a few developmental CBs that might be available in the 4th, should it come to that.
D’Jordan Strong
Jaylen Armour-Davis
Trae’Vius Hodges Tomlinson
Tariq Wollen
Tykee Smith
Joshua Williams
Garrett Williams
Cobe Bryant
Brandon Crossley
Riley Moss
Some won’t be available, some will test out in the combine, none are day one starters, but if TT picks wisely, we could end up with a guy with with future starter potential.

Zyon McCollum, Kyu Blu-Kelly, Cobe Bryant, Riley Moss, Alontae Taylor, Tariq Wollen are all starting caliber CB prospects that might be available day 3.

We'll get to see if Campbell is indeed a starting slot/CB. Our CB's have gone through periods where they're dinged up.
Thanks for the list of later round CB's. The only one I've taken a serious look at is Tomlinson. A bit undersized... but good coverage skills.
Thanks for the homework!

A guy I like alot is Alonte Taylor CB Tennessee.
Guy has talent and should be available late in the 3rd.
My Chargers offseason would look like this
Rd.1 Penning
Rd.2 Tyreke Smith DE Ohio St.
Rd.3 Alonte Taylor CB Tennesee
Rd.4 John Ridgeway DT Arkansas
I would look for a Fieler type OG in FA and another cheap vet CB in FA. Also depending on health I would also bring back Oday
