I don’t think we were ever going to go OL again in the 3rd after the Zion pick. It was going to be a defensive pick.

But besides that, is there an actual comp connection?

Craig Mager played at Texas State.....so at least Wood has faced stiff competition.

If Woods is a poor man's Kyle Hamilton, I'm good with this pick...

“Crushes receivers on crossing routes” is a quote I can get behind. Also haven’t had someone who can do that in forever. Liking this pick more and more, watts and all.

If Chargers really wanted Travis Jones, it would have been not too expensive to jump over the Ravens.

Ravens traditionally pick DTs in the 3rd....wasn't a big surprise.

Jones could have been available and Telesco still would have chosen Wood, and we would be crushed.

He may also be playing safety with Adderly in coverage while Derwin plays closer the LOS.

Most of those turnovers were bad passes that happened to go to Woods. There were a couple of good plays in there, but on most of them, any decent safety makes the same turnover. On the positive side, he is very fast, so if he gets out in front on a turnover, it is over.

Nice highlights! Very good speed / length. Looks like some return potential there. We knew there would be a DB soon.
Staley has a plan for him.

Hopefully we get what the braintrust has in mind for Woods. DB is definitely a need position.
