That's why you need a TE to help out in those situations. And by the way we had trouble converting on 3rd downs in critical situations where the other team blitzed. We failed
to pick up the blitzing safety. That's a problem with Herbert and coaching, not realizing pre-snap where the pressure is coming from and adjusting. And you know what it came
mostly from the left side, not the right.
Here's a better idea... get a RT that can run/pass block and doesn't need help. No more playing 10 v 11.

Based on what we saw of Pipkens in week #17 when filling in for Slater,
      and then them sticking Norton out at RT that final week to be beaten into a fine paste by Max Crosby;
it probably cost the Chargers the playoffs.
IIRC, Pipkins got beaten into a fine paste by Crosby, too.
How about we get OT's that don't get beaten into fine pastes...

        excelled there.
Only 2 games @RT. Gotta read the fine print. He played @RG zero game in college. Not surprised it was an adjustment.

In 24 years as the Patriots' head coach, Bill Belichick used six first-round picks on defensive linemen and four on the offensive line. He used two first-round picks on tight ends (Daniel Graham and Benjamin Watson) and one on a wide receiver (N'Keal Harry). From 2001 through 2004 he used first-round picks on Richard Seymour, Ty Warren, and Vince Wilfork, all of them in the top 15. Belichick got left tackle Matt Light in the second round of the same draft he took Seymour.

Invest in both side of the lines with successful high picks, and great things will happen.

Reid's teams have spent nine first-round picks on defensive lineman, and traded a first-round pick for pass-rusher Frank Clark. Reid's teams have spent three first-round picks on offensive linemen, including the 2013 first overall pick on offensive tackle Eric Fisher. The Chiefs also traded a first-round pick for offensive tackle Orlando Brown.
Fisher never worked out and the Chiefs don't win this year's SB without Kelce, their TE. So there's that.

Fisher never worked out? He was their left tackle for eight years, including the Super Bowl victory over the 49ers (first time). He made two Pro Bowls. The Chiefs got BLOWN OUT in the Super Bowl Eric Fisher was injured against the Bucs, leading them to trade a first-round pick for Orlando Brown the following offseason. Travis Kelce played in that 31-9 blowout loss in the Super Bowl against the Bucs, leading the Chiefs in receiving. So there's that, too.

False info. Sayler played 2 games at RT in 2019. He played LT for 9 games in 2020. He also played a few games at center, and OG. Until
he was moved to LT in 2020.

There less than a handful of NFL RTs that don't need help against Crosby. You should watch more Raider games to see how teams handle
                  Crosby.

On the other hand we need another receiver not named Allen that we can rely on.

Now whether Pipkins, Alt, Sayler or some other guy plays RT, I'll guarantee you our O line plays better from day 1 in 2024. Want to know why?
We finally have a real HC and supporting staff that knows what they are doing.

He did not work out at RT. I should have been more specific. He played LT in college, like Alt he was a grade A 1st rounded. Busted at RT and Ried put him back at LT
where he belonged. The argument being you and others want to draft a LT and move him to RT. Didn't work for the Chiefs. That was the point.

The greatest offensive mind in the game is a trencher.
