Then later on he had Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Hunter Henry, Melvin Gordon (people can laugh all they want, but he was good from 2016-2018), Austin Ekeler, and an old Antonio Gates. After Marcus McNeill's career ended prematurely, and Kris Dielman was finished, the offensive lines in front of Rivers were absolute disasters. After that it was Jared Gaither, King Dunlap, Russell Okung (who was decent), and Trent Scott at left tackle. The right tackle spot was also never figured out, with Jeromey Clary hanging on much longer than he ever should have, followed by D.J. Fluker (drafted way too high and belonged at guard, where he was just OK), Joseph Barksdale, and Sam Tevi.
But, yeah, let's not consider the possibility of Joe Alt or Olu Fashanu at all because it has to be Brock Bowers or Malik Nabers. Lol.
TDs of 50 yards or more
Tyreek Hill - 21 NOT INCLUDING kick or punt returns in 124 games
jamar Chase - 9 in 45 games
Justin Jefferson - 3 in 60 games
chambers - 7 in 153 games
V jackson - 4 in 155 games
Floyd - 3 in 121 games
Gates - 3 in 236 games
Allen - ZERO in 139 games
Williams - 4 in 88 games
H. Henry - ZERO in 88 games
Melvin Gordan rushing or Receiving - 3 in 112 games
Ekeler - 3 in 103 games
Look at Chase and Jefferson compared to ALlen and WIlliams....What a complete joke. People around here act like Allen and WIlliams are Hall of Famers because they don't understand what REAL GAME CHANGERS look like.

Chargers have consistently built team with skill players and ignore continue to do the trenchwork. Why would we keep trying that formula? KC traded Tyreek Hill and invested in OL and then they win Superbowl the very next season with one of the best OL in the league. I thought this was a copy cat league. Who are we copying by drafting more skill player in Rd1. Telesco with Williams, Gordon, QJ. We just fired that philosophy.
So it's not like they turned into the 1980s Redskins with power football. They still had speed to burn.

That is something that Allen has not had one 50 yard TD in his career. Gordon got that 88 yarder against the Patriots. Ekeler got a big one against the Rams in 2022.
How many did Fitz have over his career?

Do you know why many of the Rivers games ended in Red Zone fails? Because we plodded our way down the field methodically and eventually stalled. You have to have field stretchers. You have to have a freak or two. Now with Herbert the same crap...Plod down the filed and then try to chuck it to a 6'8 pathetic Parham or hand it to a JOKE in Ekeler who wasn't drafted fro a reason.
And to plod down the field with Herbert's arm is an embarrassment.

I'm talking about decades of roster building.
Since 1987. 36 years. 32 first Rd picks and only 3 picked in Rd 1. And it took Telesco draft in 2013, 2021 and 2022 just to get that number to 3 OL.
3 out of 32. 29 times other units were added to.
You only started 1 RB, 2 CBs, 2 or sometimes 3WR or two TE.
But you always start 5 OL. Always. And all they could do was 3 times in 32 1st Rd picks to upgrade that unit.
The organization likes the shiny toys in the kitchen
But ignore the foundation of the house. It has never worked out for them. Stop with the fancy desert. Get some big ugly bouncers to kick the opponent off the field.

Williams is a weapon...problem is as a fourth tire that goes flat our offense veers off into the ditch. Three insane playmakers in this years receiver core plus additional supporting cast receivers that will become NFL work horses. Better to just whip out the check book for a RB this season and draft receivers and linemen.Chiefs won the Superbowl with 10 Rookies....
