Exclamation point. Period.
It doesn't have to be star-studded... it just needs to be balanced. Everybody must do their job.
Now... about that defense............
there are a couple RBs mentioned that I think might be better targets than Corum - Allen and Wright

"Joel Klatt, with years of focus on the college game, has a handle on how Jim Harbaugh likes to use weapons, RBs, WRs and TEs.
He says it is going to be Brock Bowers @ #5 exclamation point period..."
If Crabtree didn't get injured in 2013,
V. Davis probably would have declined in receptions each year into Harbaugh's tenure.
Not a lot of targets for runningbacks.

Harbaugh had #7 with the 49ers and went with pass rusher (Aldon). Hortiz had #6 with the Ravens and went with OT (Stanley). Those are premium positions. Mostly, that's what sound football minds do at @#5. Or they trade back if they can find a partner... especially if they have holes all along their roster. We have holes all along our roster.
Will I be pissed if we spend #5 on Bowers...? No. I just don't think it happens. IMO, there are 2 ways this can go... 2 QB's gone by #5... or 3 QB's gone by #5.
2 QB's scenario: A couple teams (Atlanta and Minnesota) will compete to trade into the #5 spot for that 3rd QB.
3 QB's scenario: A couple teams (Titans and Jets) will be competing for a complete LT (Alt) @the #5 spot.
IMO, the trade-back is the best way to address all of the current needs on our roster. A lot of good prospects @IDL, LB, RB, TE, Edge in the 3rd round. Some people are suggesting that the 3rd round is JAGS-only. I am not one of those guys.Protect the QB
Run the ball
Play great defense

KA and JH are the biggest stars/talent Harbaugh's ever had on offense. He said he likes the receivers he has. We will run the ball better/more... I'm not sure he needs to add an elite TE to his offense. In fact (considering the balanced approach) the #5 might be better used.

Sure we need to fix our OL in a couple spots and the DL and LB and they will do their best but giving Herbert all he needs will include TE and recievers and RB.
We are ok at WR keeping Keenan but this class is too deep to ignore it like Telesco always does in a dep class.. Need to fill in the rest and im not against signing a TE, just not Everett.
I wouldnt mind Noah Fant. He is 26, played for Carroll who ran the ball and his numbers took a little hit from that.
Maybe 3 years, 11-13 mil. Better than Paying that to Everett. If we do that and draft Bowers....Wowza.
If we do that and draft Sinnott...cool. Sinnot would allow a bigger trade down by passing Bowers.
If we sign Fant to 1 year, 4 mil and draft either of the two i mentioned, cool....then draft Loveland in 2025. Options options, options.
Im not against something like that, just think BB is in play for us big time with Harbaugh.Last edited by Boltjolt; 02-17-2024, 02:06 PM.1. Mason Taylor TE LSU

warming a bit to a receiver later in the process....
consensus on Brenden Rice is that we might be able to get him @69, and that he's likely off the board @106.... one of his compares is George Pickens ??
McCaffrey would likely cost us our pick @139, and w/a compare of Puka Nacua ?? !!
there are some others that might be tempting, but reticent to use 37 on a wideout, even if we have extra picks there, and....
not really keen on spending a third on Rice neither, so would prolly lean McCaffrey if we did go wideout day three ??ED Matayo Uiagalelei, DT Dontay Corleone, OC Iapani Laloulu, CB Domani Jackson, OG Earnest Greene III, WR J Michael Sturdivant, LB Eric Gentry
TE Jelani Woods, LB Isaiah Simmons, TE Cade Otton, RB Kyren Williams, P Matt Araiza

Giants could move up 1 spot for a WR or QB. WR is their #1 need but that is if you believe Jones is the answer. If not then QB would be their #1 need. I would take this years 2nd and next years 3rd.
I deal scenario would be Giants move up 1 pick to get their WR and then trade back again with the Falcons. Falcons moving up for a QB. I would trade their next years 2nd and this years 3rd and 4th.
That would give the Chargers 2 2nds, 2 3rds, and 2 4ths this year, and 2 2nds and 2 3rds next year. Chargers could trade back in 2nd and 3rd to pick more picks if they want.
I think it's important to note that next year's QB class is not supposed to be very good.Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!
