One other thing that I'm not sure has been mentioned much; NIL and the tail-end of extended covid eligibility has weakened the talent available on Day 3 of this year's draft. So I'm not sure this is the draft in which you want to be accumulating as many picks as possible. Maybe this draft is about getting one or two more cornerstone pieces (because right now we only have Herbert, Slater, probably Derwin and...that's it?) and next year we trade out of the first round to and use draft capital/cap space to plug in the remaining holes and build depth.
Basically, I don't like the idea of passing up on legit blue-chippers like Odunze or Bowers or Arnold because we think we need to find starters at multiple positions right now. We're in Stage 1 of the rebuild and Stage 1 is about solidifying the handful of cornerstone guys you're going to build around. From there you start plugging in starters around them. We already have a great young LT in Slater and two young players in Salyer and Zion that I think still have promise. You can patch up the O-Line with vets in free agency and see if the new coaching staff makes a difference with Salyer and Zion. If they just don't have it, draft O-Line early next year. FS can and should be addressed in free agency. Same with depth at EDGE.

I think there's going to be a run on receivers again near the end of the first round/top of the second round, so maybe we stay at #5 and trade down from #37 to pick up an extra 3rd or 4th.

shrewd is one thing, but we're talking going down 3 spots down to gain last year's, "generational talent at rb"
Same guy still on your mock!
if we accidentally won our last game, we'd at least be picking 8th, so we're basically playing with house money.HAMMER TIME
