here is a thought - dare we send a 2025 pick to somebody like Arizona for 2024 pick? betting on ourselves to finish with later draft picks next year. speed up the rebuild.

I still think we will end up trading down with the Vikings. I think we will trade back with the #23. I also believe we will end up with 6 picks in the top 100. That is my hope anyway...lol

Discussing Herbert, Keenan, Mack and the 5th pick.

He goes out of his way to explain that if 4 QBs go 1 through 4, the 5th pick is in essence to the Chargers the #1 pick in the draft as far as they are concerned..

Says he’s watched every single Herbert throw as a Charger..

This team needs Defense and Harbaugh will not draft so many O players this early. WE NEED D and this mock does not help.

As we get closer and closer to the draft the more I think someone moves up to 4 for a QB and we get our choice of player at 5.
Unless there are tons of smokescreens about QBs going high like the 2022 draft (although I think that was people hyping bad QBs rather than what we have this year) it just makes more sense for a team to deal with Arizona and get #4 rather than hope they take MHJ and dealing with us.

Arizona like us has many holes, and as much as they need a WR, the package people will offer to move up and take a QB is worth so much more to build a team with.
The smart move for them (and us) is to trade down.
Heck I could see us trading down from #5 even if 4 QBs go first if someone is desperate enough to land MHJ.

Not going to lie, I have never gotten infected with the MH2 hype.
I see a really good receiver with a high floor but
I'm quite literally trusting everyone else over my own 2 eyes.
I personally wouldn't mind if we left MH2 on the board at 5 to trade down.

I’m just saying. He did what he did despite not having a good QB and leading the league in being doubled.

I'm about 99.99% sure the Chargers will not be picking at the #5 spot regardless the QB situation. I think that if the QBs go 1-4 a team will trade up for 1 of the remaining 2 QBs or 1 of the 3 WRs.

So a trade that happened in 2014 could give us an idea what the chargers could get if the Vikes move up to 5.

In 2014 the Bills traded up from pick 9 to pick 4 to take Sammy Watkins. The Bills got in return, the 9th pick in 2014, a 2015 1st and a 2015 4th. So the Chargers should be able to get 11, 23 and a future pick as well.
