I'm with ya brother looking forward to things in late April as well. None of us are scouts so if Fuaga is the player you like more power to you! I do enjoy these conversations and hearing who people like.1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

this whole thing you have with Pipkins kind of reminds me of some time back on the old forum, boy did I take a lot of shit for wanting the chargers to upgrade RT during the Jeromey Clary era and he started for how many years? I want to say like 3-4 maybe more I'm not 100% sure...I thought that guy was awful...Originally posted by Boltnut View Post
For the Love of Sam Tevi... Yes! Have people not been watching Chargers' football for the last 30 years...?
OL depth is a great idea. Not one more year of Foster Sarrell and Storm Norton!!!!"The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. I kinda agree. I've said before that it's hard for us to evaluate the oline after last year's cluster fuck. The whole team regressed. I mean how does 2 units (O & D) regress so badly in one year. Guys that were playing great one year all the sudden suck the next year. Look at Derwin does anyone really think that he sucks? He looked like dogshit last year also. I don't think people realize how shitty these coaches were in player development.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post
I’m tire of talking about him too. I think he gets more hate than his share, but he gets paid a lot of money so he can deal. I am also interested in finding out what they do with Salyer and if they decide they can upgrade the OL with less draft capital by going OG in Rd2/3 instead of OT in Rd1 and then have P and S battle it out in camp.
idunno. They aren’t all-pros. We just have a lot of other needs.
I won't be surprised after Aug 2 this staff thinks this is one of the stronger units prior to the draft.1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree

It was half of a season in 2007 and full-time from 2008 through 2012. Then he moved to right guard in 2013, after D.J. Fluker was drafted.Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post

I will never forgive A.J. Smith for allowing Clary to start at right tackle for five-and-a-half years. All of them during Philip Rivers' prime.

The Cardinals picked 3rd last year. They traded down to I2 passing on Will Anderson. Got extra picks for this draft., .. and then traded back up to 6 from 12 to draft Paris Johnson.
Of course the WRs group last year wasn't near as good as this one but they did do the trade down and then back up so it isn't out of the question.
They are the Cardinals.
I would like to take this moment to mention that Kyler Murray's starting WR's are: Michael Wilson, Chris Moore, and Greg Dortch
And now, back to your normal programming...Protect the QB

QB2 * haven't heard much chatter 'bout a backup QB this go 'round.... are we happy w/Stick or is there someone else we want to bring in via the draft (or FA ?).... my pick is Joe Milton, and he'd prolly cost us one of our early fourth rounders ??
RB2 * there are a good 20 RBs that have made the rounds 'round here, and so who and where do we go (from here) ?? my guess is that other than Benson, we might have our pick of the litter @69 ?? round three, thinkin' it's Jonathan Brooks, Corum or Jaylen Wright, of whom think the latter is the best CoP to Gus ?? round four is Braelon Allen, MarShawn Lloyd, Audric Estime, Mar'Kiese Irving, Ray Davis and Will Shipley, and.... suspectin' that we learned our lesson w/Spiller and will take care of our biz before day three gets underway.... ?? other day three guys are Dillon Johnson, Frank Gore, Kimani Vidal, Blake Watson and Keilan Robinson.... personally would hope for Daijun Edwards round five if we go for a second RB via the draft, and like Miyan Williams as a Gus Edwards hedge.... think we get @least one here, albeit more likely that we get two of 'em.
WR4 * know you and the most all of us want a WR1, and just don't see/hear it from our ranking brass Jimbo/GRo, and.... I'll let you fill in the blanks w/all the wanna be WRs from day one/two, as unfortunately for many here, just don't see this happening before day three, and w/one of our early fourth rounders.... my lean atm is for Luke McCaffrey, and as the only other name I recall in that range is Malik Washington, and as looking @things, don't think we're bringing in a Tyler Boyd.... just too avg and doesn't really differentiate himself from who we've already got.... just don't see Harbo placing the same value @WR that us die hards have, and for so long ??
TE4 * again, not sure why you bring in not one, but two TEs via FA, one of which was a first rounder, and not to mention you've already got a pass catching option in the mix as well.... to have them sit ?? the Brock shock might be brutal for the if and when we leave him on the board, and.... there are other options in this draft, and opposed to what some here would have us believe, and.... not sure where the extra picks are gonna come from, but gonna scry we go TE round three, which would be the likes of a Cade Stover, Theo Johnson or Ben Sinnott.... my choice is the latter, but the other two have a healthy round of proponents on this board, and does give us the necessary ballast in the TE room, Mr. Bowers not withstanding....
RT1 * if we've learned anything from Senor Hortiz, it's that he loves his (comp/draft) picks, and he ain't messin' when it comes to managing the cap, and if so and I've been reading here correctly, we can possibly get a draft pick for Pips come the '025 (in trade), and save on the cap come a June 1st release.... sounds pretty Trader Joe to me ?? and not sold on Sarell either, other than as a ps hedge, which leads me to believe that Salyer could well be our swing tackle/OL6 by the time our season starts ?? which of course would leave a hole @starting RT, and given that the top of round one has @least a coupla few options, and that we rarely listen to big Jim without him touting the value of Oline, am still hard pressed to believe that they are not going RT to start things off ??
OG1 * and so, if Jamaree is a backup that leaves another hole @RG, and given that McFadden could well be our backup OC (@least on the depth chart), gonna go out on the proverbial limb, and suggest that guard (Oline) is higher on our list than we have given it credence, and could come as soon as round two... ?? that could be the likes of a Zach Frazier, Cooper Beebe or Christian Haynes ?? if we strike out day two, there is always first thing round four/day three, which could be either Christian Mahogany or Zak Zinter ??
OC2 * do think Bozeman is gonna get the starting nod, and so the question is, is it McFadden in reserve, or do we nab someone in the draft ?? am gonna again scry that we wait 'til day three and round six before we look OC in the draft, and the lone name roundabout there is Hunter Nourzad. the other guy to keep an eye on me thinx, is Tanor Bortolini, as if he is still on the board, think he stands a good chance of becoming a Charger as well ??LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry

If they don't trade that pick, it would certainly be a WR which makes the Charger pick the center of the football world for 15 minutes as a couple teams start wheeling and dealing with Hortiz for the right to pick the 4rth QB, will it be Daniels, Maye, or McCarthy is the question...Originally posted by Boltnut View Post

I think TT was forced to extend Pip because he didn't have any more options...otherwise we'd have to roll with dudes like Storm Norton...I think it's fair to say Pip showed some improvement from his rook year, but still didn't quite reach the level needed to consistently give the type of pass pro we needed...I still consider him to be a decent backup...having said that, it's also true that there was a lot of IOL pressure that ended up causing havoc...Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post
they have an out after June 1st, his salary is not a threat to the cap, they can move him if that's what they want, some folks on here act like his contract was some monumental fuck up but it's really not, they can move on from him this year if they want and it doesn't jeopardize anything that they need to accomplish this year other than it would hurt overall team depth, but money wise it's totally doable since the KA trade...

NT1 * atm we've got Tito and Jerrod Clark, up from the ps, @the nose. my guess is that we look to throw someone else in the mix there, but not 'til one of our seventh rounders comes up. the two names that might be under consideration could be Khristian Boyd and Justin Rogers, the latter of which I would pass on, albeit not to say that Boyd is gonna do so much for our D, and then again.... he could surprise ??
DT1 * not sure Hinton nor Okoye are gonna be in the mix come the start of the season, but Joe did bring in Poona Ford in FA. is there gonna be someone there for us come round four ?? the two guys that could be sitting there if that were to be the case, are Mehki Wingo and DeWayne Carter, and again not guys that are gonna shift any presence we have in the middle of the Dline, and.... we only have so many picks.
DE (none) * think we're good for now w/Joey 'n Tuli, albeit wouldn't surprise me if Joe found a late addition here (in FA) sometime before the start of the season ??
ED2 * would you want to hedge your roster here against Rumph ?? I think we might, and.... not sure I see much of anyone that could help/would be wise, post day two ?? the guy that sticks in my craw here is Bralen Trice, who has been sliding down boards, and.... Ravens guys are not bothered by sub standard metrics.... if Trice has the film, he could be the pick w/a second, round two pick, if we pick one up ??
LB1 * like Nutty and some others of you have proclaimed, LB is a sneaky big need. could we fill our need there round two ?? maybe, and won't be surprised to see Payton Wilson off the board, which is just as well given his injury bug/history, and.... Cooper could surprise and still be there @37, and if not, think most here would be ok w/Junior Colson ?? backup plans could include Jeremiah Trotter/round 3, Cedric Gray/round 4, or Trevin Wallace/round 5 ??
CB4 * think we need someone to backup Asante on the boundary ?? day three guys who have gotten some mention here include the likes of Josh Newton, Cam Hart, Renardo Green, and Kalen King. most likely that would cost us one of our fourths.
NB1 * is Ja'Sir your starter ?? if not, prolly a higher priority than not come the draft ?? the guys that have gotten mention here include Kamari Lassiter, DJ James and Sainristil.... you might also want to include the likes of a Kris Abrams Draine or Jaylin Simpson ?? if we can get two seconds, would guess one of 'em goes towards here ?? eye like Lassiter, but think the consensus is Sainristil....
FS1 * think most peoples have Alohi penciled in here, and in theory, we have JT Woods as well here, and.... what is the reality of things here ?? the day two guys that I recall getting mention here are Tyler Nubin and Cole Bishop.... day three guys get less of a mention, but could include the likes of a Beau Brade, Tykee Smith or Sione Vaki ?? thinkin' it could happen sooner than later here, aka a round two s******** ??LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry
