one guy that has flown below the draft radar is their new metrics guy.... wonder if Hayre has any plans to interview him ??
still like Telesco, still think he's got some cat herder to him.... my question is can we stop repeating the same mistakes come draft time ??
we cannot go into next season w/the same holes/questions we had going into last season, i.e. the health of Okung/Pouncey.
we need a hedge against Bulaga's health, Pipkins inexperience, Lamp's uncertainty, Trai's contract demands, Qberry's middling.
if he stays "loyal" to his guys.... Feeney, Lamp, Tevi, Pouncey, and.... ?? he's got to turn the page.
we need Jason Peters or a solid LT, we need Tristan Wirfs (or the like) to supplant Lamp or whoever needs reinforcements.
we cannot leave the ? that is Mike Pouncey unaddressed prior to the regular season.... we have to plug/answer all ?s/holes on the Oline…. paramount, and way more important than getting sexier in the defensive backfield or getting a maybe QB for Tinseltown…. not good GMing.
team TommyJohn also needs to shuffle the deck that is their scouting department.... there are obviously guys that are not carrying their weight.
still think/suspect the answer is John Dorsey or the like to further mentor young John, and not sure Tom wouldn't benefit from a(nother) young up 'n comer as Asst GM ??
With today's rules, the most important positions on a football team are great aggressive HC, great QB, great CB's(because you need to be able to cover receivers long enough for pass rush to have a chance), and Inside pass rushers(because they are only ones who have a shot at getting to QB before 2 seconds and ball are gone)..... Bellycheat has built his teams with top QB, and a quick play offense...... and great CB's and safeties while generating inside pass rush by design, not by spending huge money on outside pass rushers.....
In my opinion as well as many experts, there are 2 generational QB's in this draft(Tua and Burrow), if we fail to acquire one of those QB's, then we will be forced to take BPA on defense or the OL, since none of the other QB's in this draft are anywhere close to a sure thing...... If we dont have a great difference making QB, I would rather have none and suck well enough to have a shot at a QB, rather than acquire a vet who can get us to 7-9 where we will have zero chance to ever get a great QB......
Getting a great QB has to be priority number one because the type of QB you have changes the way you build the team. The right side of OL is more important than the left side for a left handed QB...... they type of QB changes the type of offense, the type of WR's, TE's and RB's that you will draft..... if you have a QB with a deep arm you need way more speed than we currently have.....

FWIW, and I have only watched him a little bit, but in his highlights the only time I saw him get caught from behind it took the guy the whole field to catch him. Everyone's scouting reports say he lacks long speed, but people aren't catching him and he is very efficient in the north south sense, so he gets a lot of yards if there is any room there.
I also like that on his highlight tapes, when he catches passes and turns them into big plays, they aren't all perfect passes. Frequently, he is adjusting to a pass that isn't thrown that well, and then he makes it look easy.

and Tua as a "generational" QB is just plain and simple not a shared opinion.
and didn't we have a QB that was a quick decision maker, consistently accurate, had a quick release, and could read a defense as well as most any QB in the NFL, and.... exactly when did that neutralize our fledgling Olinemen who left the door open on our Oline more than a coupla few times a game, half, quarter, series, and/or.... ??
eye think it's been pretty well established that you can make it to, if not win, a SB w/a less than generational QB.... Stan Humphries & friends say hello.
5/11 Fuaga, 37 Kamari Lassiter, 40 Sinnott, 67 Bralen Trice, 69 Cedric Gray, 105 Jaylen Wright, 110 Braelon Allen, 140 Joe Milton, 181 Khristian Boyd, Tylan Grable, 225 Daijun Edwards, 253 Miyan Williams
