The 2021 1st is key to the deal. The Jags are going to be awful, and that could become Lawrence or Fields while Brady helps us get Ring #1.
Don't hold your breath on that one. On both scenarios. They had a better record than us with Minshew at QB.
And going from 6 to 20 is too far. Just don't think Telesco wants to pass on a one of the top players in the top 10.

Not really...... it would be a disaster...... JAX finished ahead of chargers with Rivers at QB...... by trading down, Chargers would be assured of not having a great QB and be worse than this year without one..... the Jax pick would be in middle of first round...... Tua and Burrow are much better passing QB's than lawrence...... and there will be far less chance of trading up for a QB next year than there is this year.... and next year they are clearly not as good as this year......

Historically, first round trade downs are a very bad thing unless you are drafting in mid 20's or later like NE always does....... teams drafting in top 5 to10 picks usually get burned badly when they trade down..... if the player you really want is available, you should take them, not trade down hoping they will still be there..... winning teams trade up for great players....... losing teams trade great players away for multiple later iffy picks like Chargers did when we traded away Polomalu when he was BPA(b y far) and filled a major hole after we left Harrison go........

Chargers need to stay at 6 or better year trade up to get Tua....... no benefits to trading down......

Doug Marrone is fighting for his job, I think he's a terrible coach. Their desperation will be their downfall and we will gain Lawrence or Fields because of it

Ive also seen rumors that WASH may take Tua instead of the DE........ Their QB is not great and he was drafted by previous coach............
That was a snyder decision, if Washington passes on Chase, its for an offensive lineman

im not sure. But thats the report. Joe saying he has a process and he has leverage.

I guess the leverage to be stubborn and demanding to force a trade to the team he rather play for.

That would be crazy if Bengals draft Burrow #1
                Chargers draft Herbert #6.
                And then they trade QBs.
                Like the Eli Rivers deal.

Looking at the pre draft reports on Mahomes-QB.
                  A lot of boom/bust talk.
                  Boom
Arm talent to make special throws and ability to extend plays. Gunslinger.
                  Bust
Footwork, decision making, bailing out of clean pockets trying to do too much. Playing in the spread system out of shotgun. Not pro ready.

Comments after they traded up was that Mahomes was a project and a risky move to give up picks to get him, but he has great arm talent and has Andy Reid so it could work out well.

Jordan Love is getting some similar reviews.
                  Boom/Bust
Project with great arm talent. Can extend plays and throw on the move. Footwork and decision making issues. Rated as high as a top 15 prospect because of the physical tools and pro bowl ceiling.

At the end of the day because of the success of Mahomes, Watson, even Josh Allen who was and is still raw. I think a player like Love gets drafted top 15 by some team. And I would think Lynn likes him because he is very talented thrower on the move. Something Lynn has talked about being a very useful skill.

Seems very likely Chargers draft a QB at #6 or make a trade to get one of these QBs because they don't want to wait to see who falls to 6.
                  Burrow
                  Tua
                  Herbert
                  Love

That would be weird that he would choose to come here over Cincy, how times have changed since 2004. I do believe Spanos is the better worse owner than Cincy.

Love may get drafted in the top 15, but I pray it is not by the Chargers. Mahomes was much better in college than Love and Love has a MUCH higher bust probability.

                          Latest CBS mock:

                          Mock Trade from Detroit Lions
                          Round 1 - Pick 3
                          Tua Tagovailoa QB
                          ALABAMA • JR • 6'1" / 218 LBS

The Chargers not only take their replacement for Philip Rivers, but they get a name that might make people in Los Angeles care about the Chargers. L.A. sends Detroit the No. 6, No. 71 and a 2021 2nd round pick to move up three spots to take Tua before the Dolphins can.
