look at history........ ordinary so-so college QB's do not end up as pro HOfers........

Fromm is not great..... his TEAM was great but not Fromm.....Eason only looks good in highlight films that do not show bad plays and do not show how bad competition was......
not a chance? Not a chance a QB (Brady) taken on the third day of the draft could ever be a good NFL QB. Or, how about a QB that wasn't even drafted but was found playing in a semi-pro league (Johnny Unitas) - a guy that could never make it.

Mahomes was drafted for upside and production.

There is plenty of round 1 buzz for Herbert, Love on upside alone.

      Tyrod is a perfect bridge.

We have to evolve in our perception, post PR.
We do not play modern football.

I don't understand what some of these people want or expect....trade 3 or 4 first rounders for Burrow? Wait for next year to get Bryant? Wish in one hand, shit in the other....you know the rest...

Gotta have faith in the team to vet and select a kid with potential, develop that kid and the team around him, and put a winner on the field. If you don't have that faith in the team, why are you a fan?

By the way....I have watched several of Eason's games...not just highlights...this narrative that he sucks under pressure is more pff bullshit...like any QB, pressure sometimes forced an errant throw or read...but I also watched him make some great plays under pressure too...whether it was escaping and making a throw on the run, or getting smoked right after he delivers a strike, even when he knew he was gonna take a hit, he made the throw.

I have watched games and film on prospects, this year and next, and they all (including Bryant) had games where they looked like shit, were inconsistent, or had their stats padded by short passes with playmakers getting YAC....except Burrow. Yea...he was pretty much perfect...but he isn't available, so get over it.

Got a feeling there are gonna be a lot of disappointed folks around here come April...

        That's a safe prediction.
Winning in 2020 will smooth some ruffled feathers, wounded egos.
        Go Bolts!

UDFA - HOF QB Kurt Warner beat the odds too. There are quite a few examples of QBs who were not taken at the top of 1st who had a great NFL career.
Drafting players requires some talent on the part of the drafter as well as the draftee.

Arena ball scrub, he’ll never make it in the NFL.

Either Fromm or Eason or Hebert or Love were consistently accurate in college which means being accurate under low pressure and not great coverage.... that is really bad for sending guys to NFL.....

there is a reason that most NFL drafts do not actually have one franchise, future HOF QB........

ONLY 2 drafts had 3 of them, 1983 and 2004.......

very few drafts have had 2....... multiple drafts have had one...

but most drafts have NONE!.... look at all the bad QB decisions CIN and CLEV have made??? guys who had skills but were not consistent........never panned out.....

The same is true for tackles, guards, centers, tight ends...... are you suggesting we draft none of those in the first round too?

And btw, Burrows will also not make it to the Hall of Fame: that's not a good reason not to draft him high however.

Fromm is the definition of an ordinary college QB who evenuitally becomes a HS coach..... maybe a college coach.....
I've just said the Chargers will draft Fromm. Just accept it. There is really no point in disparaging the Chargers next great qb. Go Bolts!!

keep getting a hit on this Charlie Heck guy.... Ninj or anyone else got much on this guy ?? !!

                    7

                    Charlie Heck

                    OT, Tar Heels

At 6-8, 315 pounds, it’s safe to say that Charlie Heck is a mammoth human being. What’s intriguing, however, is that the Tar Heel offensive lineman lacks a bit of play strength at that size, something that he’ll need to address at the NFL level.

What Heck does well for his size is move, though. He’s a great athlete for a man his size. And as the Dolphins are in the seventh round looking for value, potentially improving their offensive line further with a project piece is a good look for them.
                    8. Charlie Heck – Offensive tackle – North Carolina (6’8″, 315 pounds, Senior)

Charlie Heck, the 1st team preseason ACC All American, utilizes his length to overcome opposing pass-rushers. His length, play ability to anchor and his ability to excel as a run blocker are Heck’s biggest strengths.

One wart on Heck is that he is exclusively a right tackle, as he lacks the athleticism to play left tackle in the NFL. With that said, Heck is the type of player that will be drafted in the middle rounds and ultimately find a home on an NFL roster.
                    Charlie Heck

North Carolina tackle Charlie Heck is a nice-sized, efficient lineman who blocks with solid fundamentals but lacks great athleticism and upside. He played right tackle last season, which I think is his best spot in the NFL. I currently have him as a fourth round projection.

Jon Runyan is another guy that I just can't completely ignore and wonder what it is that might be of intrigue w/him ??

                      Interesting to see
                      Chase Young
struggle a bit standing over tackle as Michigan left tackle
                      Jon Runyan
did a great job getting his hands into the elite pass rusher and keeping the pocket clean on third down.

Multi-year starter at ROT and LOT (Senior season).
Was a basketball & soccer player early and didn’t play football until later in h.s. Pretty good athlete, agility, and technique. He lacks some flexibility and that hurts with bendy speed players. Power is marginal in drive blocks. Will need some strength improvement in hips for drive power, anchor stoutness, and grip strength.
