    Run blitzes.
Wheel routes and passes over the middle to Ek/Kelley.
Examples of plays Steichen left out there.
Herbert will learn to exploit overaggressive defensed and not just rely on making great throws.
We do not play modern football.

Not that there's to much to be excited about but Herbert neatly drove down the length of the field and gave this team a chance to win from there own 1 yard line with 1.55 on the clock and no timeouts. Just wondering what might have been of he had been able to start from the 20 yard line instead.

Well, it is a great learning experience for him which is good and all things considered he performed pretty good for that situation.

Remember, Herbert almost won the game for us twice. On the second to the last play, he had the pass to Allen in the end zone that Allen did not come down with before that last play which also could have won it.

Riddle me this batman Herbert throws 49 times and has an INT and 2 fumbles one which was recovered by the other team and yet they only run the ball 23 times, 3 of those carries was by Herbert yet they were averaging 5.1 ypc. I'm telling you if Herbert can have a strong running game then we will do well. He doesn't need to pass 50 plus times a game.
It's hard to have a running game or passing game with a patchwork O-line. Seems like every year it's like a volleyball rotation. Everyone move over a spot. So freaking annoying. Our 2 FA's can't seem to stay on the field. This next draft it should be something like this.

              Round'
              1. WR
              2. Oline
              3. Oline
              4. D line
              5. Oline
              6. Dline
              7. Oline

The dude has a cannon. Makes 40 yard throws look like 20. To bad we can't draw up a ton of deep passes because our annual patchwork O-line couldn't create a clean pocket against a high school team.

Imagine if he had a normal offseason to learn.

Maybe...it would matter...but what about the rest of the team? He did do some training on the side so I'm not sure it would be as big of an impact going forward from this time onward now. Some other players have had years to learn and they are just barely better so I'm leaning towards you either have it or you don't like Pat Mahomes, Kyler Murray Jpe Burrow etc. etc. etc. The next couple of games he's going to learn a ton and it's up to the rest of the team to show up and pay attention. Herbert can't play both sides of the ball and catch the passes as well.

I lean towards learning on the bench if you haven’t guessed yet. Part of it was watching Brees and Rivers do the same thing, as well as others at the time. But it is different now.

The premise that Herbert had to throw so much because the offense couldn't run the ball is false. Ekeler averaged 4.9 yards per carry. Kelley 5.4. Herbert 5.0. When your run game averages more than 5 yards per carry, that is not failing. The reason Herbert had to throw so much is because the Chargers were playing from behind, and that is because of the turnovers.

50% of the great QB's we're just thrown into the fire. Mahomes was delayed because they had the luxury to delay. The list is just way to long that they started their first year and the organizations didn't care because they believed in their long term talent. What we're experiencing is a breakdown in the rest of the team.
