I was watching that game thinking - how could he be more in over his head as a head coach.

The end of the first half alone. First of all, there was a pass to 15 - when I thought they should have called time - instead they rush a play, Herbert gets sacked, 2nd and 17, they run a play to Ekeler so its 3rd and 10. Now, they could have used a time out there - get a good play. Nope, run the play and they are short so Lynn lets the clock run but stops it - so they can't go on 4th down as too much time but they have to punt. Instead of letting it click down to 1 second and trying a bomb...

But the second half was worse

Lynn dropped clock management like receivers dropped passes today

Herbert setting a new rookie QB record every week with multiple passing TDs seven games in a row. This game would make it 8 games in a row. With Herbert setting records it makes AL look stupid with a new record every week as the greatest QB in NFL history makes every pundit question the head coach. AL couldn't win with Rivers last year and blamed Rivers. This year he has the best rookie QB of all time and can't win. AL was not going to let Herbert set another record with at least 2 passing TDs in this game. So every time the team got even close to the end zone they ran. It wasn't questionable play calls it was intentional atrocious play calling, run the ball no matter what screw the game AL was not about to let Herbert throw deep or short if he was going to pass for another record performance.

This way AL can blame the QB for the loss, just like he blamed Rivers last year. Its not bad coaching its bad QB play. Watch AL will blame the rookie QB threw an interception, thats why theteam lost. This is a stupid coach that always blames the players. It's imbarrishing to be a Charger fan.

I don't think the Spanoses will fire Lynn before the end of the season. But if by chance that happened, who would take over? Bradley? Steichen? Stewart? Bradley and Stewart have both struggled as coordinators this season. Steichen is the lone bright spot among the coordinators, but is he qualified to even be an interim HC?

Lynn has had the better team in all three games. He should be 3-0 against the Bills.

Don't worry. You will not have to be loyal to Lynn that much longer. The real question is whether or not Lynn makes it to January 4th to be fired.

Talking about talent mismatches, the 2017 game against the Bills was a prime example. Guess which team made it to the playoffs that year?

ANY interim coach on our staff couldn't do worse than the coaching shit-show we were subjected to today. Give them a try, what the hell! The fans and the players deserve better than just going through the motions for the last five games. Don't be too quick to short guys like Pep or Stitch, they may at least make the rest of this dreadful season watchable. Bradley had better be gone along with Lynn, or all bets are off.
