POLL: Who Should Be The Chargers' Next Head Coach?

One more name i think should be considered is Lane Kiffin.

Its been a while since Al Davis hired him.....to be his puppet,... and since then he has been a OC and currently a HC at one of the Mississppi programs. Wasnt he a HC at one of the CA colleges as well (USC?)

Have to think he has grown and was a opponent of Al Davis NOT drafting JaMarcus Russell. He went against Al often actually and why he got canned pretty quick lol.

I think an interview is at least worthy.

Kiffen is talented, but he really showed his lack of loyalty when he signed a 6-year deal with Tennessee, then left after just one season for his dream job as HC at USC--causing riots on the Tennessee campus. He's also known for being a loose cannon when it comes to throwing others under the bus, like potential recruits, and even Urban Meyer. Not the "yes" man the Spani prefer. PASS.

ok but do we really want a yes man? I sure dont and Dean needs more than a yes man. FFS, if we need a yes man then just let Johnboy coach the team and save money.

Nope, I don't really want a Spani-style "yes man," but I'm hoping they'll come to their senses and at least hire a qualified former HC, OC or DC with a proven track record instead of an ex-running backs coach who is woefully unqualified for the job...Kiffen is talented, for sure, very creative game-planning and play calling, but he strikes me as too flippant and volatile under pressure...his current gig as HC at Ole Miss is a good fit for him--he's the king of the program there, surrounded by a whole lot of obedient young knaves who do as they're told, and in classic Southern style, do so with a respectful "yes, sir!"

Yep...I'd like the same kind of coach with a killer mentality for our DC...someone who blitzes, uses different, disguised packages, anything to keep the opposing QB off-balanced. We do need to draft a couple of good cover corners, though...
