Recency bias aside, he was definitely better than McCoy. And I think he would have been a better HC to replace Marty in 2007 instead of Norv. Maybe he’ll learn from his mistakes if he ever get another chance at HC. Either see if someone needs an OC (someone like Zimmer) or coach at the college level and see where that takes him.

McCoy did more with less. Taking the 2013 team to the playoffs was an amazing accomplishment.

Lynn underachieved in every season he was with the team, including in 2018 when had arguably the best roster in the NFL.

I realize its a pipe dream but Norv failed as a HC not as a OC.

Can you imagine Herbert in the Air Coryell throwing those long beautiful bombs ?

That would put some butts in the seats.

But of course, we would have to fix the OLine for the longer developing pass plays. Herbert would have to hold the ball longer or scramble to buy time.

Norv called the plays as an OC and he was terrible at it because he was very predictable. He was also weeks late in removing the 7 step play calls from his play list when the OL was awful that season.

Bienemy feels like AL = RB Coach v2.0. I don’t buy his role as OC in KC with Andy really in charge.
Jason fucking Garrett is the scariest idea tossed on the table for me. Loser coach imo.
Harbaugh would bring discipline and toughness, besides SF did he wear things raw at other locations? Or did he stay long enough to? He’s an NFL HC and he’s a Winner. I don’t see any other candidate checking both of those boxes.
