Looking at it on my PC instead of my phone you get a much better look and feel of it. The navy really makes the powder blue stand out in a good way.

This is the "high risk/high reward" option.

Is the he Defensive version of McVey? or is he just a flash in the pan coordinator?

I have read a few articles that mention him amoung candidates, and he is well respected. I like him more than Brady...but I think I'd prefer someone with more experience.

Staley took a very talented (best DL in football, best DB in football) that had a very good Wade foundation and tweaked it and made them great. So the talent was there and the foundation. He just tweaked it. And was smart enough to keep the good bits. Chargers are talented. Not sure about the foundation, but they were close in a lot of games against really good teams. Do they just need a smart tweaker?

Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

The Rams needed to act quickly after the 2019 season ended. For all intents and purposes, the team’s most vital expiring contracts fell upon defensive leaders for the team. While the Rams were still solid with star-power with All-Pro Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey, the team needed to reformulate the defense. The LA Rams parted ways with Wade Phillips, and in his place brought in Denver Broncos OLB coach Brandon Staley. Staley was the assistant to defensive coordinator guru Vic Fangio, whose defense befuddled Sean McVay's offense over and over.

Enter rookie defensive coordinator Brandon Staley. Early into the season, Staley emphasized the fact that he was a former quarterback, and intended to put the defense on the attack. He proved early in the season that he would commit the defense to play both the pass and the run well. But the greatest attribute of this defense is the ability to adjust at halftime to stymie the opponent in the second half of games.

Yeah, this guy is ready. He approaches his interviews well, and his philosophy in terms of the importance of certain positions on defense and offense already shows that he knows what is needed to win in terms of prioritizing talent.

What nice about DC Staley is that he played QB in college.
16-5 as a starting QB at Dayton.
His coaching experience is all on the defensive side.
Articles about him say that he is obsessed with football.

Of their list of interviews, I think I like this guy the best.
Who has it better than us?

Best part for him is he wouldn't need to move except to a new office across the other side of the complex lol.

Would he be our defensive play caller or hire someone he likes to run his system? Maybe steal someone from the Rams defensive staff?

Like I said a few weeks ago, if you want a successful Bellichick type, this is your man. In fact, I guarantee he will be the winningest coach in Chargers history (and maybe at the top 3 of league rankings) with at least a 2-to-1 win ratio, and multiple AFC Championship game appearances with several Superbowls. There, I said it.

They have an offensive line. According to EPSN, Phil was #19 QBR-based QB in 2020. Justin was #13 behind one of the shittiest lines in the league.
