This offense is going to pressure secondaries, that's for sure.

The deep threat that Tyronn Johnson provides will also serve to open up spaces in the middle of the secondary for the tight ends, and Ekeler.

Meaning, when Justin Herbert looks downfield for a target, he's more likely to find one that (a) is open, and (b) has room to navigate after the catch.

Improved protection for Herb = Getting More Shit Done

If Staley has the same kind of success with the Chargers as he's had elsewhere, this is going to the *really* fun.

Not worried about the secondary, linebackers, edge, LB’s, DL, OL, WR’s, TE’s even Special Teams W/exclusion of FG Kickers. After Eckler, RB is my biggest concern. If Austin goes out for any length of time, offense will just be one dimensional.

If the O-line has been assembled as wisely and judiciously as it appears, every RB who was on the roster last year has a legit shot at being more productive than he was then.

Justin Jackson has more 'staying healthy' issues than Ekeler does. The odds say he's the one most likely to be shelved. When he *is* healthy, though, he's a legit #2 back.

Joshua Kelley got doghoused by Anthony Lynn after some fumbles. (Too bad Lynn didn't doghouse himself after a handful of time management gaffes, but that's a different story...) I saw some NFL worthiness in his play... which is more than you can say for the O-line (allegedly) blocking for him. So does Kelley deserve to be written off? *Eye* don't think so.

Oh, certainly. But aside from the 70 yarder Herbert isn't holding the ball or scrambling. These have been in rhythm, on time throws where Facyson is just getting beat by the route.

I just hope it's Johnson is that good. At this point he plays faster than his timed speed.

His timed speed is 4.4, right?

And the more he plays "faster than his time", the more similar to Tyreek Hill he becomes.

Which is to say-- so fast, that it's a rare defender who can cover him, because *he* knows* where he's going, and the defender DOESN'T.

The Spanish-language announcers seem that way, especially in Soccer. I'd wish there were more Gus Johnson types out there though. Most play-by-play guys let their color guys do the hysterics.

Interesting listen……
- offense struggling vs defense (pads go on Monday though)
- Derwin is running the show
- JH10 great but still learning scheme and how to layer throws
- Kyzir getting starting ILB reps over Tranquill
- Asante working primarily in NCB role
- size difference between Asante and Facyson very noticeable
- CORE STAs = Tranquill, Nabors, Christiansen, Reed, Amen, (Ryan hasn’t been practicing yet)
- T. Johnson and Palmer making plays
- Guyton getting 1st team reps but not productive, lots of drops
- MikeDub’s catch rate sucks, looks lazy
- Reed not getting any return opportunities, drop in 4th practice, and they see no real sense of his value
- JJacks is looking explosive as RB2
- Rountree looks solid in his reps
- Fackrell getting equal/greater reps vs Uchenna
- Rumph is skinny but a playmaker, needs to add muscle mass
- Chase firmly QB2 at this point
