So is anyone connecting Herbert's hand injuries (KC and NE) to his play the last few weeks or is that what Marty would call a "non-issue"

Not looking to excuse Herbo, he simply must play better, but I could understand if his throwing hand is feeling a bit off.
    maybe getting less practice reps?
    G-Ro knows.

If there’s any lingering affect from the KC injury, we would have seen it against the Raiders and Browns. He injured his hand late in the NE on the last TD drive. So no, I don’t think there’s a connection.

He was horribly inaccurate because we actually had a consistent pass rush and pressured him...kid knows how to get rid of the ball and not take a sack.
The TPB makes plans....And Jim Harbaugh laughs...

Final prediction: Latham OT, Colson LB, Sainristil CB,Rice WR, Zinter OG, Nourzad OC, MacLachlan TE, Vidal RB, Lovett DT

Herbert was as well. If JH10 was his normally accurate self we win by at least 10.

Herbert was more victimized by drops and a miscommunication

              three key drops
one lead directly to points by the patriots - could have been a 6 point swing - the ekeler play

Mike Williams didn't keep a drive
Allen had a drop - team got a FG but might have got a touchdown

I agree with Ninja, Herbert was off the mark a little, and receivers were forced to try to catch a pass that was a bit wide or a bit high. He missed receivers on plays that we're used to seeing him make.

Like stated elsewhere here his accuracy dipped when he lost any semblence of a right side of his o line.

Not as bad as last year’s line. Maybe Lombardi can help him out with rollouts to the left.

I am still reeling from that last loss to the Pats coming off of a bye week where the Chargers had a couple of weeks to prepare and get rested. To me, that lost was not promising at all. Not from either a personal, where a few players came back form injuries, or coaching perspective. I want so much to believe in Staley, but this last loss seems much of the same to me. With the investment in the OL and coaching change, I was really expecting more.

it’s still a long season, so hopefully the offense can get back on track. My fear is that even for Herbert, the change in offense might be tough to digest.

This. Also they did exactly what was expected, and we did…? Anything? Not good.
